This has probably been said before but, Timothy Rand:

He is angry, bitter, and frustrated with Rolan and Kian. He hates that they left town but most importantly left him, it doesn’t matter that they did something with their lives, it just matters that they left him alone in Galloway

On the other hand, he cares so much for them. He loves them, those are his best friends and when it comes down to it he’s happy they got out, after all it’s something he could never do. He just barely got to say that to them before they, for the last time, got out and he is still stuck in Galloway with no where else to go
