I almost never write drabbles but this popped into my head when I was looking at this pic Heartbeat: "Can I listen again?" Olivia asked, gently, reaching a hand over to touch Amanda's swollen belly. Amanda chuckled softly and shifted onto her back on the bed. She stretched her arms above her head, causing her shirt to slip over her belly, exposing the taut flesh, ready to burst with child. Olivia's smile widened in return and she eagerly pushed herself up from lying next to Amanda and bent over the other woman's belly. She touched her softly with both hands, framing the highest point of her stomach as she leaned in. She pressed her lips to the firm, yet exquistely silky skin before she turned her head and pressed her ear to the roundness of her tummy. She hummed in happiness as the little girl inside of her partner began to squirm in reponse. "You make her happy." Amanda murmured, reaching down to touch Olivia's head and run her fingers through her hair. "You make me happy." Olivia's cheeks ached with smiling and she returned, "You make me more than happy. And so will this little one." She closed her eyes again and perked her ears up to any sounds she could catch. She could almost imagine the baby's heartbeat fluttering just beneath the layers of flesh and placenta. She didn't yet know the child growing inside of Amanda, nor had she physically had a role in creating her, but she knew that she was hers - no, theirs - from the moment she had listened to that little heartbeat pounding just for them.

For anyone who actually reads my story "Haunted", it the last chapter maybe posted after Halloween. I have no real reason other that I am extremely exhausted to the point that I can't even think.
