Romeo and Juliet, right? But Bass and Roll.

Hold on a second, I’m going somewhere with this. 🫵

I personally ship Bass and Roll from the Megaman games, and while I was minding my own business one day, an idea suddenly came to my head: What if Bass and Roll had a relationship, but based off of Romeo and Juliet? (Hence the title of this post.)

And you want to know the craziest part? It can actually work. The Montagues vs. Capulets. The Wilybots vs. Lightbots (or even as simple as Wily vs. Light). Both Bass and Roll are from different creators, who are enemies. Romeo and Juliet are from different families, who are also enemies. You see where I’m going with this?

Of course, the plot would have to be adjusted, but I think something like that could work. (I don’t think it would be strictly based off the play, more like inspiration or loosely based off of it.)

I genuinely can see Bassroll/Rollass as something tragic, just as much as it could be wholesome. If you look at it from Roll’s perspective, imagine falling in love with the guy who’s constantly trying to kill your brother, yet he loves you back. (Or if we’re being less extreme, let’s just say they’re rivals. Which is probably the better way to look at it.) She would probably feel conflicted. She might not be sure on how well Rock would take the news. And if you look at it from Bass’ perspective, this goof fell in love with his rival’s sister, which would probably add a layer of confusion and even doubt for him. Because Roll would genuinely have a reason not to like him back. And I have a funny feeling that Wily wouldn’t be too happy with Bass falling in love with one of his rival’s creations. (Not too sure how Light would feel. He probably wouldn’t be mad, just disappointed.) Y’know what I mean?

Of course, it is just an idea. The execution would need to be done well for this to work, but the similarities are there.
