THE CAIN AND ABEL PARALLELS. AHHHH!!!

Cut off right below because this contains spoilers from the new episode!

In the beginning of the episode, I immediately picked up on how the red dot in the beginning of the episode was Caine. I thought that his AI was being fed information, and the shapes represent his own output of what he had been given. But overtime it became more and more abstract. Eventually, I guess they decided to “contain him”, or put him aside for a bit while they started a new project (or the blue dot). I’m assuming that is Abel.

Caine broke free from his restrictions, and essentially “combined himself” with Abel (when I really think he killed him).

NOW IS WHERE CAIN AND ABEL FROM THE BIBLE COMES IN.

I know this theory has been brought about many times within the fandom (and I wholeheartedly agree with it), but this just amplifies it even more.

In the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve had Cain (the older of the two) and Abel (the younger brother) after being banished from the Garden of Eden. Cain worked in the field while Abel tended the sheep. When it was time to bring their offering/gift to God, God accepted Abel’s gift. But he didn’t accept Cain’s because he didn’t do what he was supposed to do when it came to the offering. Cain became jealous, and his jealousy and anger led him to murder his brother.

…Which exactly parallels what happened with Caine and Abel. Especially when Bubble makes the comment of him being “the lesser of the two”, which only played into his jealousy, anger, and other insecurities that he was dealing with. You see where I’m going with this?

Caine was created first. His performance wasn’t accepted. Abel came second. His performance was accepted. Cue the rest of the events that play out…

All in all, that episode was insane. So many references. So many things that were happening.

And I loved EVERY second of it!

i got the news, so much it is the end of SMG4, on December, everything will end...ah, it feels so...sad, i kinda grew with the series, sometimes leaving it on hiatus and then returning and then get addicted to it again but everything has an end, doesn't it? thanks you for everything Luke, you did wonderful things and...you reunited a lot of people together, you created whole new friendships and groups around your silly adventures, even...even for me...you changed my life and made me meet a little few people i consider i was and kinda still am part of them, and i thank you for that, it was one hell fun of adventure, so long partner...

Ok whether or not Steve Purcell was just being pissy because he had to add a girl character or not, i think he is completely wrong about messing up the duo.

From what I've seen people love the cartoon and the character of the Geek. At least I do.

From a writing standpoint, the Geek is an amazing tool which brings out different sides of Sam and Max which makes them much more complex characters. Especially with Sam, because she is the logical, reasonable one which lets Sam be more chaotic and silly. While still keeping his core character. Hell, some of the episodes in the cartoon are based heavily off the comics and take most of their dialogue from them, and these episodes go together perfectly with the rest. So there isn't really much change in the core characters.

Thinking that adding another character to interact or be with your established duo is going to fuck it all up is stupid. Maybe if you're bad at writing or don't have a full understanding of the characters it will.

This makes me think of Adventure Time, which writes a duo amazingly no matter who they are with or what part they play in the story. Finn and Jake are an iconic duo. And they interact and hang out with so many characters while keeping their flow and appeal. Like episodes with Finn, Jake, and BMO. Or literally any other character. Hell, some episodes they are background characters and STILL are amazing and fun to watch. And some times its just Finn and someone else or Jake and someone else and it's still great because the characters are written well enough they don't have to be together to be good.

One of my favorite episodes of the cartoons is the Uglions one. Which is where Geek is heavily featured. And it works great in my opinion. Sam and Max are still themselves and fun to watch, even while we are focused or seeing what the Geek is doing.

Also, if we are talking about rhythm, you just have to be able to write so that a character flows and fits within that rhythm so to speak.

I don't know if Purcell really meant this or if he was giving some bullshit excuse, but the idea he stated just isn't true.

Preach it, Elder Gong

One of the things that I have struggled with since I was 17 years old has been working around Young Singles Adult wards (YSAs). My sole purpose in going to church has been to try to grow closer to Christ in learning more of Him, not to find an eternal companion. I have tried going to YSA wards and they have always made me feel uncomfortable because it makes me feel like my worth is reduced to my relationship status. I am so much more than my relationship status and God does not see me any less as a single person.

Just going to put this here. they are all always near one another (in the same bubble) and are not near others. they’re outside. they have their masks nearby if need be.
