When the Autobots were forced to separate due to Cemetery Wind, Drift knew their best bet was to yet again find each other. Come together to make themselves a bigger, harder to hit target. Considering all the humans were taught so they could fair their own against the Decepticon...
It was a really big stab in the back, honestly. Drift hadn’t seen it coming but he shouldn’t have been surprised-- he knew how humans were. How they reacted when uncertain or scared. Maybe it was foolish of him to believe in the faith the others had in them. Sure seemed that way, considering they were being hunted down like some prized trophies.
Drift had been keeping his optic and scanner out for any signs of fellow Autobots, or even a neutral that might need a servo-- scanning a less flashy Audi to blend in better and going with a pure black scheme for his outer paint mode. Anyone who had seen Drift’s earlier choice in alt mode (an obnoxious Dodge Viper) wouldn’t have guessed off the bat it was the triplechanger in disguise. Even if they noticed he had an Energon signal, it’d take either an advanced reading or him transforming to tell.
As such, he’s mostly been able to get around undetected.
Drift had found himself a place to chill in a parking lot, sensors reaching out as he rested uneasily. His light recharge disturbed as he picked up another Cybertronian signal entering into his vicinity.
The black Audi suddenly sat up straighter, reaching out cautiously as Drift opened up an accessible comm channel tentatively, ::Hello?::
