Rollo Tomasi - Horror Day
LA Confidential - 1997 - Curtis Hanson A stylish classic noir movie, based on one of the best crime novels writer, James Ellroy. For those who love gloomy and vintage atmosphere, policeman and especially ambitious men stories, a movie to discover the dark paths to celebrity, dark side of the city of angels, dark side of all of us. The main characters are all in their way very ambiguous and more complex they seem to be at the beginning. Venenous Kim Basinger, brutal and sweet Russel Crowe, tenacious Guy Pearce, colorful Danny de Vitto, and… charming, stylish and at the end very invested and unmissable Kevin Spacey. Jack Vincennes is not the leading character of the movie, and dies too early according to me, but he makes the counterpoint, the balance between a violent Bud White and a too cerebral Exley. A classic Noir movie, that you should watch and rewatch.
