Ship(s): Luce (OC) x Ronin
Note(s): At the end of fic :3
Luce had the day all planned: Ronin would come over, she’d make them breakfast, and she’d surprise him with a visit to his favorite place. Right now, it was almost 6am; the sun was rising and lit the garden a beautiful orange. Luce got up and went back inside. She quickly got changed before going to the kitchen and starting on breakfast.
After about 20 minutes of cooking a variety of things—pancakes, bacon, and eggs as well as starting on French toast—Luce heard a knock knock knock on the door. She opened the door and was greeted with her boyfriend, who had given her no warning as to when he was coming.
“You’re up early.” Luce teased, heading back to the kitchen and motioning for Ronin to follow suit.
“Yeah?” Ronin shut the front door behind him. “Maybe I just wanted to hog all my girlfriend’s time, nothin’ wrong with that.”
Luce fought the blush that threatened to show on her face. “Oh my God, you’re so…so…”
“What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue?” Ronin grabbed her from behind and nuzzled into her neck as Luce put four pieces of French toast on the griddle.
“I see where Angel’s coming from now.” Luce started. “I literally cannot find a single word to describe you anymore.” She laughed softly.
“Aw, thanks for the compliment, darlin’.” Ronin kissed Luce’s neck softly, causing her breath to hitch.
The French toast had finished cooking relatively quickly, and Luce prepared two plates and led them both to her couch.
“Once we’re done, I’ve got a surprise for you.” Luce said before shoving a small mouthful of food into her mouth.
“Do ya now?” Ronin sat and admired the way Luce ate, how comfortable she was in his presence, how she didn’t feel this urge to be “ladylike” with him. “Is this a murderous surprise?”
Luce swallowed then shrugged. “I guess you’ll have to find out.”
The two scarfed down their food and Luce led Ronin back to her garden.
“Alright, now open!” Luce cheered.
Ronin’s eyes opened to a beautiful display of flowers. Planted in the shape of a heart, the flowers had gorgeous contrast. Whites, golds, and burgundies hit his retinas and he had to fight a smile.
“These for me, sunflower?” Ronin said softly.
“Happy birthday, Ronin.” Luce turned to face him.
Ronin grabbed the girl and pulled her into a hug.
“This isn’t all.” Luce added. “I hope you don’t mind me covering your eyes.”
Ronin’s softness disappeared and was quickly replaced with his usual teasing. “What? Don’t trust me to keep my eyes closed?” He paused. “Of course I don’t mind.”
“Alright, yay!” Luce smiled. “Let me just…” She picked a few of each flower variety. “Ok, we can go now!”
The two made their way down the street, Luce covering Ronin’s eyes and her flowers in a satchel she owned.
Luce took a turn into a dark alleyway and their mostly quiet trip was interrupted by Ronin.
“We’re in Purgatory, aren’t we? I can smell the blood.”
Luce took her hands off his eyes. “Surprise!”
“Luce…” Ronin smiled ever-so-slightly.
“And…!” Luce pulled out two knives from her satchel. “I thought I’d give you a birthday you’d never forget!”
“Sunflower…” Ronin leaned over and kissed her softly. “Thank you.”
“Of course, what kind of girlfriend am I if I don’t give you the best presents?” Luce giggled.
Ronin covered her mouth as he heard footsteps come into his favorite gruesome alley. He took one of the knives from her hand and pointed to behind a garbage bin.
The steps got louder and louder, and as soon as Luce felt Ronin’s hand gone from her mouth, she saw him on top of a man. He took his knife to the guy’s neck and cut!
Luce grinned upon seeing her boyfriend’s smile. The insanity in his eyes is something she’d always want to protect. She pulled out the flowers from her satchel and joined Ronin on top of the bleeding out man. She gave him the lilies and showed him how she stuffed her victim’s necks: reaching in and shoving the flower stems into their esophagus. Ronin followed suit and shoved a lily into the man’s esophagus, grinning wildly.
“Hey, you’re not bad at this.” Luce whispered.
“Oh, yeah?” Ronin replied. “I’d hope not.”
The two kissed passionately on top of the now-dead guy’s body. Once the kiss broke, Luce started to pack up the flowers and knives.
“Let’s get out of here.” She told Ronin, giggling.
The two left the crime scene, hand in hand. Once they got to Luce’s home they washed up and spent the rest of the day binge-watching movies.
