This set, featuring a hyper-saturated print of a New England town, recently became our den Roman blinds. When I took the pleats out of the panels, I was delighted to find they were the same width as our windows with enough extra length to allow for dowel pockets. The colours were perfect, too. 

The awesome part of using vintage curtains is that they’re usually already lined. That means minimal measuring and sewing. I was able to sew these by hand. C found doweling in the basement to fit the pockets, so all we had to purchase was rings to run the cord--and of course, the cord itself. Total cost, about $30 (including the curtains).
