Tell me about Fenris and Thea Hawke's dynamic

ah yes, my favorite romance. Zevran and Clea’s being a close second. Fenris and Thea found common ground almost immediately. Thea has always been very strongwilled and stubborn and the type of person to hold fast to her own beliefs and one of those beliefs is that slavery is wrong in every sense and that people should never ever be exploited by another. This was something her father instilled in her when she was still a child after the family had a run in with some Tevinter slavers who were kidnapping elven children, something that Malcolm put a stop to. Although her sister was a mage (Thea was a rogue), she also came to understand Fenris’s distrust of them after seeing some of the things in Kirkwall that blood magic was capable of. Although she took on more of a weariness than general dislike. Fenris is very protective of Hawke and always keeps an eye on her while on the battlefield, something that she finds endearing and infuriating as it means he isnt fully focused on keeping himself alive at the time. His protectiveness is warrented though because although Thea is more than capable of protecting herself, she is also impulsive and somewhat reckless and has gotten herself into more than her fair share of trouble that way. Of the two of them, Fenris tends to be the more grounded one, bringing Thea back to herself when she starts to fly off or go off. He can bring her back from anything and she is capable of being that for him on the rare times that he goes off. Despite how cold and closed off that Fenris is in public, he is entirely different with her in private, very open and sweet and the smiles flow freely and shes quick to make him laugh and forget his troubles. He likes to give her the softest touches, brushing his fingers over her leg or arm, holding her hand, soft kisses on her shoulder, small things to show his affection. Thea herself is also not the same person with him in private. She is very closed off and sarcastic and witty and charming when need be in public, almost used as a protective net around her to keep her emotionally safe and distant, something she doesn’t need with him. He knows things about her that no one else does, like how her eyes sparkle with she laughs from her soul and how when she smiles, one side of her mouth curls up more than the other, and how she has a serious sweet tooth as well as private details about her life she shares with no one. They feel safe with each other which is something that neither of them has truly felt before, because even with her family Thea, never felt truly safe with the constant threat of Templars coming after Bethany but even with constant threat, Fenris made her feel safe. All of their companions could see how much better off they were with each other, and how they pined for each other for the years they were apart. The love that Fenris and Thea have for each other is the kind of love that I want mine to be, because I see us in their love.

One of my favourite dynamics is when the two main characters act like a divorced couple who’ve had two kids and a mortgage together and they’re full of mutual contempt and talk to each other like absolute shit because they know each other too well and can’t stand each other, so there’s zero respect left. But it’s very much a them thing because the second anyone else gets involved, they’ll go straight for that person’s throat like their life depends on it.

And that, my friends, is what happens when your parents divorce while you’re still a kid.

Feminine looking young man (could pass as a women in certain situations) who is sold off by his family to be married as a ‘bride’ to a wealthy/royal family who’s son is the heir x heir of the family who is secretly gay and doesn’t want to marry a random women until he meets his fiancée and discovers his secret and falls in love instantly
