Pieces of the Moon
This fic was prompted by @some-thrilling-heroics asking for a story about Nicky doing some acts of caring/service for Joe and Joe's reactions. I DO think I missed the subtle/sweet mark by a mile. I went BIG. I might give it another try down the line, but this is what I came up with for now!
“I told him I was a demon and that my soul belonged to that prisoner—that I could not go without him—that if he denied me my soul, I would haunt him.”

Finally Alive CH. 11
Update!
“Tell me about your dream?” Nicky urged, twisting around in Joe’s arms.
Joe cupped his face, kissing him. “The moon wants to hear stories of its reflection?” he whispered against Nicky’s lips.
Nicky smiled at his poet. The things that fell from Joe’s lips were breathtaking and Nicky still wasn’t sure how he had earned Joe’s attention, but he would try not to argue—try not to convince him to look away even if he thought he probably should.

Finally Alive Ch. 12
After a couple of weeks of getting used to a new day job, I finally have an update for Finally Alive!!! Hope you enjoy it. <3
Nicky stared back at him. Those eyes were marvels—the only thing that betrayed his age. Joe thought he could see time in them, rolling around in there like endless waves, considering everything he had ever witnessed over and over again. They gave everything away if you just looked—if you could bear to look. Joe could not imagine ever taking his gaze away.
“I am not trying to save you, Nicky. I am trying to be a part of you.”
Whatever was holding Nicky together cracked and a tear escaped that ocean in his eyes. He jolted in Joe’s arms at it, hand flying up to scrub it away. Joe kissed the spot where it had been.

Is This Peace?
“No,” He Tian said in that infinitely final, almost bored, tone that Mo loved when it was directed at anyone else, but most of all when directed at He Cheng.
Mo snickered, took a long drag and then passed the cigarette off to He Tian where he sat at the table across from his brother, Mo leaning against the back of his chair and keeping an eye on the crowd below the VIP lounge.
“It’s not up for debate. We’re making peace and this is a show of trust. It’s gross, but it’s tradition.” He Cheng shrugged. “Think of it as a bonding exercise and count yourself fortunate you’re dealing with Jian Yi and not his father.”
Mo lost his amusement. This asshole was serious. “Do I get a say?” he snapped.
He Tian held up their shared cigarette, offering it back to him. Mo took it.
He Cheng didn’t look at him—his dark gaze fixed on his brother. “It’s one night.”
Mo took a deep drag and felt He Tian grin in that angry way only he could. “No.”
He Cheng glared. “You’re going to throw away the end of a street war because you don’t want to share your redhead?”
“Yes.”

Heart Eater
I once dreamed that you stole my heart. I fought you, but you were still so gentle. You took it from my ribcage and I cried. I was so afraid. Until you ate it and pressed my hand to your chest, tapping, reminding me where to find it.
Doors - Part Two
Levi was surprised when she contacted him again two months later.
Noelle didn’t let him in that time either, but she also didn’t apologize. She cracked the door and told him she’d meet him at the cafe.
Levi had almost asked if she wanted him to order something for her but decided not to risk ruining whatever fragile thing this was. He nodded and headed back downstairs. He ordered his cappuccino and sat outside, wondering if she’d come this time or just watch again. He’d had clients who liked to watch him before. Sylvia liked to watch him eat. Andrea liked to watch him shower. He could sit here and drink coffee if that was what she wanted, but he couldn’t figure out what she would be getting out of that.
He almost startled when her building door opened and a woman came out. For a second he didn’t think it was Noelle—didn’t think it could be. He hadn’t realized he had imagined what she would look like until he was wrong. Levi had expected her to emerged, drowning in a sweater, her hair in a tangled mess, and her eyes squinting against daylight like some vespertine wonder. He anticipated timidity, arms curled up against her body and spine hunched as though she could vanish if she could only fold in a little more.
The woman that crossed the street did not look at him. Her chin was level and her gaze fixed ahead and her long, dark ponytail swishing. She wore a fine wool coat, as black as her tights and her wedges, the flare of a yellow skirt peeking out beneath the coat. She went into the cafe and he actually wondered if it was just a coincidence. If this woman just happened to live in the same building as Noelle. Surely everyone that lived there came to this spot for coffee.
But then she came out, her to-go cup in her hand, and sat down on the bench beside him. She left almost enough room for a whole person between them and he heard the little shudder of her breath pressing out of her when she settled down. Yes. This was her.
“I meant to let you in today,” she spoke when the silence stretched. She held her cup in both hands but didn’t drink.
He turned a little to look at her, not quite enough to bend his leg onto the bench between them and face her fully, but it was enough to make her sit straighter. “I don’t mind this.”

Good evening - its the anon who begged you for the Open update. Thank you thank you thank you for doing 2 more chapters so fast! I could hardly believe it. It was so good and I love your writing! Are you planning on writing new stories for 19days as well?
Thank you so much for the nudge, Anon! It was so fun to get back into Open. I am so SO happy that you liked the new chapters!
I am playing with the idea of doing some oneshots, particularly some Xi x Mo, but it’s kind of hard to think up ideas that don’t naturally have me spinning it into another ongoing series. I’m also working on another update for Open as well as Stages.
