Summary:
Roman Godfrey isn’t a very perceptive individual.
He’ll be the first one to admit that, because to be perceptive you had to care enough about other people to notice them, and it’s his personal rule that he doesn’t care enough about people in general. That’s a fact mostly known to almost everyone in Hemlock Grove. The lesser-known fact is that there is a very specific exception to his rule though, Peter Rumancek.

or Letha was never pregnant, Roman is very bi, and Peter somehow can get pregnant
hello!! have some more of this self indulgent au, which isn't in chronological order.
Roman is sitting on the bonnet of the car, and the boy beside him is sharpening a knife. They’re on the edge of a cliff top, the dark woods behind, and the stars above to judge. Roman is staring down at the midnight-cast city below, watching the twinkle of headlights, staring at the burnt-out shell of a manor.
The town is Hemlock Grove. The boy is Peter. The manor was Roman’s home.
Roman is close enough that he can smell the stink of rot that drifts from Hemlock Grove and feels like he could drown in it. He’s hungrily staring down at the town with the knowledge that nobody can see him. Why didn’t he take advantage of what he had before, why did he never come up here and stare down at the town, at these little people, with their little lives?
Peter leans forward and presses a kiss to Roman’s shoulder. Roman has lost weight over the past month, all his old shirts slip off him. He feels like a bird sometimes, with hollow bones. Peter’s mouth burns against Roman’s skin.
thank you to @ardentlyopposedfoes for being a lovely beta reader and has been waiting on this fic since the 18th of march!!
Roman jolts awake when the car stops. They’ve been driving through the night, Roman passing out around 1 in the morning, listening to smooth easy jazz as Peter hummed along. His neck aches from where he had his head tilted backwards, and he turns from side to side to click it, looking around.
Peter is still sitting next to him, hands gripped tight around the steering wheel. He’s brought them to a stop in a church parking lot, surrounded by other cars and families in their best clothes. Roman accidentally catches the eye of a small girl holding her mother’s hand, and the girl looks away, afraid of him.
“Why are we here?” Roman asks blearily.
“I don’t know.” Peter replies. His tone is clipped, and Roman sits up in his seat.
“Are you okay?” He asks. He reaches out with one hand to touch Peter’s face, then reconsiders, so his hand hangs in mid air.
Peter lets out a sigh, and then turns his head so that Roman’s knuckles brush against his cheek. “I just- Wanted to come here. To talk. I don’t know. It doesn’t make much sense, does it?”
Roman wants to tell Peter that he can always talk to him, but he knows it isn’t true. Instead he draws his hands away, settling them in his lap. Peter is looking at him with big wide eyes, and Roman, who has never felt any faith, lies to him.
“It makes sense.” He says, “I understand why you’d want to come to a place like this.”
Roman casts a glance at the church. It’s a huge brown brick building with a white steeple that makes the church stand out, and a sign out the front with directions to the graveyard. There are also posters on either side of the double doors, proclaiming the terrifying and frightening work of Christ.
(Roman thinks he could give Christ a run for his money.)
They stop for McDonalds in the early hours of the morning, late enough that the only other people in the restaurant are construction workers. The green reflective jackets they wear hurt Roman’s eyes, and he taps his foot impatiently as he waits for Peter to come back from the counter.
It’s their third month on the road, and Roman is tired, so fucking tired. Peter has been driving them, in Roman’s sleek black car, almost as if he doesn’t trust Roman not to drive them straight back to Hemlock Grove. Roman misses Shelly like mad, misses the crowds and how unsettling the town is. He wants to go home.
“Here.” Peter drops a tray of food onto the table and then slides into the seat opposite Roman. “I got you a burger and fries.”
“No dessert?” Roman asks, and Peter rolls his eyes.
“You don’t need a dessert, you’re fat enough already.”
Roman kicks him hard under the table, and Peter kicks him in the shin. Roman hisses in pain, and then grabs his food from the tray, pulling it closer to himself protectively.
“Relax, I’m not going to steal it.” Peter says, shoving a handful of fries into his mouth. “I’m not a dick.”
“Could have fooled me.” Roman says, and takes a bite of his burger.
It’s cheap, greasy bun, meat that isn’t meat, gherkins when they’re not needed. Roman can practically feel it clogging up his arteries, the weight of it burrowing deep into his bones. It’s delicious.
Roman eats so fast that it hurts him, a pain deep in his stomach. Peter eats quickly too, but he’s experienced at shoving as much food into his mouth as possible and then running. Roman is not yet used to this life, he’s green to escape.
the story would be drastically changed as to letha was never raped by roman and peter goes in heat after 3 months knowing roman, nadia would be their child, and roman would be human for half of it. basically that’s it. if you want to read it let me know
he knew they were siblings//they had the same mouth
is this even a valentines day fic?? is this even a fic?? enjoy anyway
~Ao3 Link~
Letha kisses open mouthed, pulling Peter practically into her lap. They’re making out on his sofa, to the sound of pouring rain and the smell of stale pot. Peter was expecting delicate, innocence, something shy that would need to be tamed. The male fantasy, of explaining what went where. Of placing Letha’s hand on his crotch, and hearing her gasp and marvel at how big it was.
Letha bites down on Peter’s bottom lip and then sucks it. Peter can’t help but moan as he rocks against her, and her hand threads through his long hair. She pulls away, with a satisfied smile, and then darts forward again to nip his nose.
“What was that for?” Peter asks, and Letha grins.
“You looked stupid.” She says, and flicks his nose with her manicured nail. “All kiss drunk and cross eyed.”
“Shut up. I was not cross eyed.” Peter says, practically with a pout.
“Yeah you were.” Letha says, and she’s smiling with her tongue poking out between her teeth.
“I’m not Roman.” Peter tells her, and this time Letha throws her head back to laugh, exposing a neck that could be described as swan-like.
“Oh my god.” She says, giggling. “You’re terrible. I’m surprised Olivia even lets you in the house.”
Peter waggles his eyebrows. “Who says she lets me in? I could break in through the window.”
Letha punches his shoulder with surprising strength. “I’ll report you to her.”
“Oh yeah?” Peter asks, “What can I do to get out of being reported to Olivia?”
“Hmm….” Letha taps the side of her chin, pretending to think. “You could fuck me?”
Peter blinks, and then grins wickedly. “I think I can do that.”
“Wonderful.” Letha says, and pulls him forward for another kiss.
Neither of them notice Roman watching outside the window.
-
Roman kisses like he’s scared that Peter will leave at any moment. They’re in Roman’s car, pressed up against each other, Roman’s knuckles white as he grips onto Peter’s shirt. Peter bites and sucks on Roman’s plump bottom lip, and Roman allows it, mouth slack as Peter does what he wants to him.
Peter pulls away, and Roman tries to chase his mouth, eyes fixed on Peter’s lips. Peter instead distracts Roman by running his hands through his hair, and Roman’s eyes flick up towards him.
“What?” He says, sounding annoyed. “What are you doing?”
“Nothing.” Peter says, and shifts where his jeans are too tight. “You kiss weird.”
“Get fucked.” Roman bristles and leans back, the car suddenly too small to contain their lanky bodies. Roman’s fingers tap against his hip, seemingly anxious for a cigarette, or a joint, or something to distract him.
“Hey.” Peter says, and takes hold of both Roman’s hands. He runs his thumbs in circular motions over the back of them, and Roman snorts.
“You do that to all the girls?” He asks.
“You know it.”
“Even Letha?” The question is casual but loaded with tension.
Peter looks up at Roman from underneath his eyelashes. “I loved her.” He says, and talks quickly before Roman can interrupt. “And I love you.”
“That’s not how it works.” Roman says.
“Too bad.” Peter says. He brings Roman’s hands to his mouth and kisses them. Roman watches him silent, but his fingers flex a little. “I love you both.”
“Peter...” Roman says, the name rolling off his tongue like he’s been whispering the word all of his life.
“Roman.” Peter says, and looks him dead in the eye. There is a heavy silence, the stifled air before the rain.
Roman wets his bottom lip. “I think Letha and I were…. Related.”
Peter inclines his head. “I think so too.” He says, and he thinks he’s known for a long time.
Roman’s mouth quirks upright. “Still love me?”
“Always.” Peter says, and brings Roman forward to kiss him.
When you read a bad fic of your OTP Cause the Plot is cute and great but characterization is OOC and your pretty sure the writer's first language is not English...
