Deceit Headcanon
Deceit has the squishiest and chubbiest cheeks out of all of the sides, and they ALL have squished them. Roman tried to deny it for as long as possible, but after witnessing Deceit munching on a granola bar with his cheeks stuffed like a squirrel he couldn’t stop himself.
Deceit was blushing days after the squish incident.
I just really needed to write something, okay?
Constrictor
Ships: Romceit
Warnings: unsympathetic Deceit, emotional abuse, controlling relationships
A/N: Canonly, I don’t think Deceit is anything like this. He may be slightly controlling in his ways, but I think his intentions are always good. In this fic Deceit is over exaggerated as being mentally abusive (for the sake of the fic)
Deceit’s snake form slowly wrapped around Roman’s arm, and made its way around his chest trapping his arms inside. Out of the light sides, Roman was the only one to know of his animal-shapeshifting abilities. Along with being able to make himself look like any side, he could turn himself into a golden snake with glowing silver eyes. He could control his size and length, and used that to his advantage as he continued to wrap himself around Roman’s stomach and slowly coming up around his neck.
Roman had learned that human Deceit and snake Deceit were two different people. Whatever snake Deceit did real Deceit wouldn’t remember when we switched back and vice versa. Snake Deceit didn’t have the same conscious as his human side, and just had a different way of thinking. This is just his way of saying I love you.
There was a strange comfort in snake-ceit’s… well, whatever he was doing. It was meant to be comforting to Roman, he was sure, but his way was painful. He wrapped himself around his body as if he was trying to protect him, but also stopped him from doing whatever he was working on and choked him in the process. He knew in the back of his mind it was wrong, but he always sat and let him do him, because he didn’t want him to stop. He was a trap he didn’t want to escape.
“Ok Dee, that’s enough. I’m working.” The snake suddenly tightened, making Roman’s voice squeak with a sudden scream. He fought for a moment, trying to get him off without hurting his snake. His work was left suddenly untouched as Deceit pulled him back from it. Then all the sudden he stops, holding his breath and letting Deceit continue to squeeze and ignoring the lightheadedness taking over.
Roman stands up, making fuzzy purple dots take over his vision the notebook on his desk scribbled with brainstorming and random drawings. If he controls his breath, he wouldn’t pass out as fast. By now he would have let go or at least would have stopped squeezing. Roman put all his remaining energy into getting out. It may not have been on purpose, but he was hurting him. And if he didn’t do anything he would end up choked to death or in the hospital.
One of Roman’s jerks sends him off balance, and the two fall backwards on the ground, making snake Deceit loosen himself around Roman. The snake around Roman’s throat turned into a human hand, that let go of him as soon as he saw him almost passed out in his lap.
“Roman?” Ignoring him, Roman pushes himself up and stumbles back to his desk, rubbing the spot on his neck where the snake had squeezed a little to hard. “What happened?”
“Nothing.” Guilt came to Roman after he realized how he was talking. He was frustrated, but didn’t have to make it noticeable. “Are you okay?”
“I’m okay.” Deceit now stood over Roman’s desk, giving him the chance to look at the scribbles in his notebook. “I feel like I should be asking you that. You’re really pale.”
“I’m fine. Please leave it alone.”
“Why do you always say that?”

Snake
(Requested by anon)
“What is that?!” Roman’s affronted voice broke through the calm of Deceit’s morning, that was in fact actually rather calm.
He’d gotten himself a nice little cup of tea while he munched on some of Patton’s raisin covered cookies that had just been made the night before, and all of them for Deceit. So he felt a little miffed when it was all ruined thanks to Roman’s loud voice, worst of all the thing that he seemed to be so rudely pointing at.
“What? I don’t think that you meant to say, who.” Deceit tartly snipped back at Roman, watching the creative side look confused for a split second before he finally seemed to grasp just what he was saying, or at least attempting to say to Roman. “This isn’t my snake, her name isn’t Clara.” He smoothly snapped back at Roman, as he curled his finger under the chin of beloved snake friend, all as her tongue lazily flicked in and out upon seeing Roman.
The python moved rather slowly, curling up Deceit’s shoulders until her head rested up on top of his messy set of colored curls to look Roman right in the eyes, while Roman took a fearful step back halfway expecting Deceit’s little pet to strike out on command. Although the only thing that seemed interested in was just flicking her tongue in and out, again and again, she did it to the point that Roman just felt confused by it.
“She isn’t old, and she can see well. She doesn’t want you to pet her, Clara definitely doesn’t like head scratches.” Deceit helpfully put in, before shoving another chunk of cookie in his mouth as Roman’s expression morphed once again into something along the lines of distaste towards his snake.
“And get my hands and nails slimy? No thank you.” Roman snipped, and he clearly expected that to be the end of it, and it was, at least until Deceit spun around in his spinning breakfast bar stool leaping up to his feet. Despite the fact that Deceit was a whole couple of inches shorter than him, Deceit had an air around him that made him seem so much more imposing than he really was, especially this early in the morning.
“Snakes!” Deceit seethed openly, as he ground his teeth trying for once to spit the truth out rather than constantly lie and lie. “Sssnakess..don’t..they don’t sssecrete ssslime you dunce!” He practically hissed, his clenched fists shaking for a split second before he suddenly seized Roman’s hand, and before the princely side could jerk it back he let Roman’s fingers rest against his own scales.
Everything, absolutely everything seemed to come to a complete stop now, as Roman seemed to be wincing back, obviously expecting his fingers to come back coated in slime or mucus. Just or there to be...smoothness? It was almost like a silky smooth texture, no..more like the texture of a pear that had been polished to perfection. Deceit was right, snakes weren’t slimy after all.
“Interesting.” Roman softly murmured, and once Deceit released Roman’s wrist allowing him to pull away, Roman kept his hand there, allowing the pad of his thumb to slowly drift over the accumulation of scales on Deceit’s face. His eyes drifted slowly over them before they locked onto Deceit’s bi-colored eyes, and there they stayed. “Do you have scales anywhere else? Or...are there other ways that you’re like a snake?” He couldn’t help the tiny smirk that curled onto his lips once he said that, as Deceit’s cheeks lit to be a bright pink.
Perhaps snakes weren’t so bad after all.
