the uber ride to romina’s felt like the longest ride of cora’s life. the driver tried to make small talk, which she truly never minded. however--today was different. all her thoughts were focused on what awaited for her at romina’s apartment. bouncing in the backseat, cora attempted to engage in conversation with her driver. hazel hues gazed out the window, memories surely coming back to mind. the area was starting to look familiar.
a few minutes later, she was finally dropped off. cora thanked the driver and wished him a good day. the air was brisk, which caused her hands to latch onto the material of her leather jacket, covering it even further over her body. she quickly walked into romina’s apartment building, cora knew exactly where to go. stepping into the elevator, she pressed the floor button and waited impatiently. it was a strange thought that cora was in this elevator once before, hanging onto a very intoxicated romina.
there was something about the woman that cora couldn’t quite figure out yet. the way they met was all too interesting. she thought that there would be no chance of meeting romina again after that night. but she was proved wrong. now here she was, walking to her door. a knuckle knocked enthusiastically against the it.
