He bent down quickly to grab one of the pods that was rolling past his feet, chuckling a little. “We certainly wouldn’t want that.” He picked up a few more, reminded of his days as a resident, rushing more samples and tests than he could carry back and forth between the labs and the doctors. “Is this pollen dangerous?” He asked, wondering if he’d need to make sure they had some sort of antidote on hand in case of an accident.

I am extremely cautious when it comes to MirrorVerse in Star Trek rp. If you go over to AO3, you can see that a LOT of the AOS MirrorVerse is fetishized abusive BDSM. I’m not into that. BDSM gets a bad enough rap in the world (thank you, 50 Shades)…
MirrorVerse can be extremely interesting. The dynamics of a fear-rules system, where you always have to watch your back? SuPER INTERESTING. And I used to have an awesome crew. But in fic it’s so much “rape and violence for the sake of rape and violence,” ignoring that all the people in that verse have grown up in this oppresive, abusive environment, and they have very different survival tactics…
Ages ago a group of RPers were doing a mirrorthread where they boarded a ship and just murdered everyone. Why? They didn’t fight back. The Empire needs bodies, slaves, workers, whatever. Why wouldn’t they keep them and chain them? If you murder everyone on a ship and you choose to keep the ship, you have to sacrifice crew to drive it now? There’s far more than rape and murder going on.
….Actually I really miss mirror so I guess I’m doing the opposite of answering this question, but yes.

The inside of the small vessel was often so quiet-- even Y’rehl’s natural chatty nature couldn’t always push back the emptiness of being alone in a ship floating in the depths of space. Quiet scared Verelan... and so dis excessive noise. When Verelan grew scared, Y’rehl would hold her, and it would seem to ease, at least in the slightest.
This time, however, the painful silence wasn’t there. Instead, it had begun to be filled by a melodious tune that Verelan had never heard before. She tightened her loose grip on his arm slightly, but held silent for a long moment out of intrigue. It took her some time to realize what Y’rehl was doing-- not merely holding her but resting with his hands on her abdomen and singing.
She eventually put two and two together, and her face broke its usual look of blankness in favour of a weak smile.
“Do you believe they can hear you?”

It was a rare moment where Verelan had found somehow the comfort and the time in which to catch a few hour’s sleep. Much to her surprise, she awoke not to the sound of a comm call demanding her attention or to some sudden surge of panic, but to the noise of singing.
Her eyes fluttered open and she became aware of a weight near her. She focused her gaze downward, and was struck silent by the sight of y’Rehl-- namely, that he was singing with his head close to the rounding at her middle-- namely, to the twins she was carrying.
“I did not know you could sing,” she said after moment.
