Aww this chapter felt a little calmer compared to the past few weeks! Her catching up and mending her friendships with Soohyun, Yuri and Kwang. The little flashback story! So cute. How Yuri has grown!! 🥰

Her internal monologue when thinking about her boys😭 She really, really needed an outside perspective and I'm so glad she let her coworker/mentor in!! I think it was the only way MC was going to realize that she still gets to choose being with her soulmates! Now.. is she going to take Changbin's advice and take more initiative…??? Are we at the end of the angst mines?? 🐤

I forget, does Jisung also have a kind of mental bond/sense with MC? I vaguely remember him feeling like he had to call her or find her in the past when she was distressed?? It feels like he's usually the one that reaches out a hand to her just in time 🥺

Also, IN with a creative way to elicit an interaction with her 😂 Truly such a sneaky little fox!!

Now…. who gets the honor of being in the same room as MC post revelation?!?! The only practice room…encounter… is with IN? Can't wait!!

I absolutely loved the last chapter it was soo amazing!!

The last ask really made me giggle a bit hahahah, and on the note of what they said

I feel like sometimes I connect dots together and I’m just sitting there in my bed, eyes squinted at the wall, connecting things mentally and making theories that barely make sense. I swear I always hear that one meme where they’re like tapping on their temple, then tapping on each others temple going ‘yeah….yeeaaahhhhh’. It’s either that or I’m sitting in public giggling and kicking my feet under my chair while reading lolll

But just to wrap this little rant up, I seriously love your writing, and if you were to start posting that hyunjin stalker fic…..👀… I’d definitely read it and eat it up.

Last chapter was very good thank you so much for giving us some more soohyun and Yuri content (thank you mc for at the very least realizing that telling them everything would be helpful even if she doesn’t actually do it), I’m glad it seems like mc and yuri are on better terms again even if yuri is scared mc is gonna ghost the friendship.

I LOVE i.n. rage baiting mc into responding by intentionally wearing a horrible outfit, he doesn’t get enough credit for how well he understands mc sometimes, I lk think he could’ve been another good option for last chapters conversation, but I don’t know if she would be more intimidated by some of these conversations with him now that she knows about the soulmate situation. although I’m grateful she chose binnie, if for no other reason than I love to see that man on my screen (and some tough love is important rn).

I see we’re hinting at a suppressant situation 🫣👀. I know we’re not doing any pregnancy here but Ive been connecting dots (probably unsuccessfully) but something tells me that mc is not getting a refill for her heat suppressant and based on various tumblr post I think we may be finding out that her overuse is going to be related to causing fertility issues so any future pregnancy would be tainted by both her awful childhood and also her trauma of being in a potentially fatal situation (just my current interpretation). I’m scared because I don’t want her to make up just for the sake of having heat support but also like I just work here so I’m excited to see what happens anyway. ESPECIALLY because I’m hoping that her convo with goen has her understanding that they could have successfully just been friends or not have a role in each others lives and that everything they’ve shared hasn’t just been out of some expectant obligation of the soulmate bond. Like I hope mc remembers her convo with Seungmin about the museum date disaster (regarding caring enough to not force a relationship) and connect that to her current situation.

I fear I’m growing hopeful for the next chapter because I’m ready to get to the happy part of this happy ending but no need to rush the ending part. Truly thank you again so much for giving me something to theorize about and hyperfixate on.

MC and Yuri are very stable! Yuri really means it when she says she isn’t going anywhere 😆 I wrote something a while back from Yuri’s POV, from when they were just getting to know each other, and it’s kind of funny (and sad, to be real) how distant MC was from her in the beginning. But Yuri is very persistent, and the current MC treasures her very much 🫶

I love how we got a slower chapter. One that feels more like contemplation and maybe the sum of all the previous chapters.

I love how the boys found their own ways to connect with MC. Jeongin was sneaky and went to fashion and han went for music advice. Like MC said both HOOKS for her to want to engage on. Clever clever men😊😉

'Then again, if you’re already this unhappy and alone without them, then surely it wouldn’t be too much worse to just do it alongside them, right?'

This bit HURT INSO. GENUINELY. I get the idea MC is going for but together they WOULDNT BE UNHAPPY OR ALONE. They'd figure it out together!!

Everyone reaching out to connect with our MC. Yuri and soohyun too, reminding her they can talk to her(even if MC thinks she needs to keep a secret)

I found it funny how she opened up to Goen..cause isnt that just typical real life situation? Close friends are as the name suggest too close and thus can be perceived as a threat

However a total stranger, who doesn't know MC or her entire mental and emotional process? They get to know ALL the information and zero threat of exposure.

I think MC needed to hear ' I’m telling you that a soul tie isn’t a death knell,'

And

'You speak about this like you have no choice,” Goen says, like he’s reading your mind. “But you do; you always do. It’s important you know that.”'

Cause that's what made her run to begin with, wasn't it. The lack of control and influence she thought she had. The fact that a gentle old man who also feeds and cares for her, gave her this advice and a listening ear

It'll be so important for our MC. There's nothing like feeling powerful and in control after feeling helpless to make someone go 'fuck yes i CAN DO THIS and IT WILL GO OKAY'

'I always tell him that I have to pass before he does, because I would be useless without him. And that isn’t destiny, not for us — that’s choice. That’s love.”'

This too, soulmates and bonds are one thing but CHOOSING to strengthen that bond..that's what solidifies it. It's the difference of love vs lust

All this to say MC has wise teacher and mentors and confidants..and we will get through this with a stronger and more confident MC in the end

Ah...of course. Of course the outside observer is the one who can actually get through to MC. That makes so much sense. I really love this turn of events! And it makes me unreasonably happy for MC to realize, even a little, how cared for she is by everyone. Even people that don't occur to her. And a question (I can't remember if you answered this once.) Canonically the MC does have a name, even if readers don't know it. Do you have a name you use for her in your own head/notes?

I really like that he reassured Mc that a soul tie isn’t a death toll, that separation is possible, and makes Mc start to consider that her fear of bond sickness and being unable to see a future for herself with anyone else or see them with anyone is a choice, subconscious though it may be.

Sometimes we really do need an unbiased opinion and this was something I think she really needed 🥹

I’ve recently been watching a lot of Last Meals interviews from Mythical kitchen and I’m curious what would MC’s last meal be if she could choose? Has it changed from before she met the boys?

I absolutely agree with you that MC has been isolating herself! She really always thinks of herself as a problem to be contained and quarantined 😔

I really love Goen 😊 And I really liked writing this conversation— It’s all about choice! Choice and agency are the central issues! At the end of the day, the problem was never the love. I think it’s kind of funny how the RON boys are very “this is just the way things are, why are you acting like this, let’s just be together first and figure out everything else as it comes” because they’ve all had time to come to terms with the situation. Even Changbin! Here’s this, from his POV in chapter 9:

There is no girl, he starts to say on instinct — but of course, it isn’t quite true.  There is certainly a girl out there, somewhere: some blurry, mysterious entity he’s neither seen nor smelled in any significant way despite being his alleged soulmate.  Certainly, there’s no such girl to him, because while he thinks you’re funny and sweet enough, he doesn’t feel any particular draw toward you through texting exclusively.  He may be the worst member to ask about this, in fact, because he is the only one still standing with his head on straight.

But for MC the problem is very much not about want, but about consequences, and agency. And I kind of think she’s right at least about the fact that the boys are not expecting their lives to change very much if they start dating, but her life is bound to change, dramatically. And maybe there is something gendered to that expectation! Much to consider

Another commenter (you might see this, hello 💋) made the observation that, because being soulmates is a choice, that means she actually gets to choose them now. And I think that’s really important! At least, it is to her 🙆 Definitely an important chapter imo, despite the lack of boy

Hahaha I’ve never seen Last Meals but I think I know the premise! Let me think 🤔 MC likes meat more than seafood, likes spice, isn’t very into sweet, likes tang… She likes potatoes and fruit…. I also feel like she’s become more into/really misses a bunch of food that’s harder to find in Korea…. Maybe a big stupid hamburger, LA galbi, fish tacos, spicy Indian lamb stew w naan, braised potatoes, fresh kimchi, watermelon cut in slices, and mango sago. And the potatoes specifically have to be made by Lino lol. Is that too much? 😆
