How Ronald first met Grell...
It was a rainy day in London. Ronald had gone over this a million times... but today was that day that the blade of his knife got its own life... and before he could stop it, he was bleeding out.... the cut was deep, the floor crimson red. Then it all went dark, and it was too late... ~~~ Grell was at first very rejecting to Ronald. (As explained in the ova The story of Will the reaper, Grell doesn't like new recruits...) She called him a useless kid and didn't want to teach him. Why couldn't William do it? But Ronald eventually broke down. He had been happy to discover it was something after death and that he would get a chance to make it right. So when Grell refused to teach him he got scared. Oh so scared. What would happen to him now, if he wouldn't become a reaper? Would he just vanish in thin air? Would it hurt? This is how Ronald and Grell found something they have in common... the fear of dying. ~~~ Grell agreed to teach Ronald. She gradually watches him come out of his shell and become the Knox we know today. The ladies man, the ever late, the party shinigami... Grell took a step back and watched, being quite proud over how he had gone from a broken boy to a full fledged shinigami. He had been easy to teach after all. But Grell couldn't help but miss the attention that she got from Ronald when he was still the young boy afraid of dying for good. But she didn't have it in her heart to bring him back to that state for herself and her selfish needs. For the first time... Grell put someone else before herself... and it was Ronald Knox... ~~~ Present day. Grell walks into Ronald office with some paperwork to place on his desk when she comes over some of Ronald's personal notes. He wasn't there, and Grell was the curious kind of course... "I'll never forget the day I died, love, memories, frozen and denied. Flower of my heart, withered and dried." This was part of one of Ronald's favorite songs of the 21st century. But Grell didn't know that. So this broke her heart....
