Fatigue.... Wedding Planning pt4
This wedding stuff is consuming. At first you're so caught up in the love and joy of the moment you don't notice that you have just forfeited the next year(or longer) of free time to JUST wedding things. And even the first few months you gladly get up on a Saturday morning making appointments and setting task for things to get done. We were reveling in the pride of being able to balance adulting and wedding planning with ease. But then you notice that everyone and every conversation becomes "how's wedding planning?"
Parents are calling daily.
You try and escape but to where?
Fatigue has set in for both of us. To be honest fatigue is Ok. She's worried that it will ruin something or kill the magic of it all. Fatigue is just a part of life. It's why we rest, why we take lunch breaks. Fatigue is your body seeking balance. What is NOT ok is to burn out. Burning out means you're done and over it. It's no fixing a burn out. So it's important to listen to yourself when you start to feel that fatigue preluding and burn out moment.
So we have decided to take some time for ourselves. Nothing special, just rented a cabin on a goat farm in the middle of nowhere. Nothing instagramable, no wifi, barely a cell signal. Just us together enjoying each other .
It was amazing
We had a great time doing absolutely nothing. And although we were in the middle of the country it was still gorgeous
It was enough time to relax and recharge our wedding planning batteries and get back in the mix! So much so that I felt like it should be a very important step in the wedding planning process.

Random adventure time
So @ofwordsandwaltzes and @zoodvminthemaking are the muses of my life right now. These two beautiful deities somehow came into my world showing me how to live (somewhat) carefee yet still strive and work towards something . You see I grew up in a workaholic household where if you're not working you just being lazy and wrong. I've had a job since 14 even during college breaks I worked. Never did a full spring break vacation because of work. For over 10yrs I've been working hourly wages Which meant time was money and time off was negative monies. So now that I have a real job with allotted time off I still don't put of sheer habits. The few times I've taken off I've actually switched days with co-workers so I could get the weekend. Not even think I could just say Hey I'm taking off. So my workaholic tendencies along with the recent loss of my wife has allowed me to something like 200hrs of time off! So I get a lovely email from HE saying to take a damn vacation! It still feels wrong to me. But I took a page out of my muses playbook, sold some of the vacation time and booked a flight to NYC to visit some friends. Thought I'd also take this little adventure a step further. So I will also be couchsurfing to meet some new people while I'm out there because a hotel room by myself is just boring. So I will be snapchating and postings as much as I can next week. Should be fun I'm excited!
