"i don't get what everyone is yelling about, they seem to be going with the same ending, are we talking about that one drop of blood there, i thought maybe it would turn out to be a different rerun of Nana's but so far everything is going in the same direction even with the little changes that initially worried me,

MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR THE REVUE STARLIGHT MOVIE UNDER THE CUT:

when I saw some spoiler comments a while back that Karen dies I figured they meant something metaphorical or offscreen.  It was alluded to in one of the...PVs I think that Karen died in a previous timeloop, so it wasn’t totally off the shits for revue starlight.  But I wasn’t expecting..well...this.

i’m mixed between:

1. a lot of disappointment, because the series’ happy ending was one of my favorite things about it and this is taking it in a direction that completely diverges from the message I’d taken from it in the first place (which is a similar reaction I had to Madoka’s rebellion).  Nana’s arc always did feel incomplete to me, but I personally saw the ending of the anime - especially the part where she thanks Karen as she ascends the staircase (and gets the goddess role that diverges the most from the original script!) - as the start to her healing and recompense for what she did.  

Like it’s clear in the anime that there’s no way Nana could have anticipated that she was going to reverse time with her wish.  And each subsequent loop after that is her repeating the same mistake because she’s terrified of what will happen if she doesn’t - and then, eventually, Karen frees her.  I loved seeing Nana as a character who was already deeply wounded and thrown into a situation that she couldn’t have anticipated the consequences of, turning her into a really unique villain.  But this scene completely throws away the results of Karen’s actions in the anime when she’d...already spent the entire series being ridiculed for what she was trying to do anyway?  So it was all for nothing and this is actually just grimdark lol?  

and 2. excitement/anticipation for an anime season 2/whatever happens in the movie coming out this may because. well. i’ve certainly been surprised. given that it’s revstar i’m curious to see where this goes but if it’s just more grimdark from here on out i’m going to be seriously disappointed

basically it’s like SURPRIIIIIIIISE MADOKA AGAIN and i’m like man i don’t want madoka again. i want revstar

without having seen the whole movie or knowing what they’re even fucking saying i’m not really in a place to speculate but there were a few things i found interesting: 1. nana and hikari both dead on the staircase, 2. whether all of this is from a previous loop, or maybe a glimpse into a future that nana/nanakari are trying to prevent (which is what i’m banking on most, i don’t see this series going grimdark), 3. where the hell this puts the game in terms of canon,

and 4. nana’s surprised expression here when she looks up at the tower, after the gory scene:

i see you posting about rondo rondo rondo i didn't click it because i haven't seen it yet but i'm wondering if you know of any rips or are just commenting on general spoilers.... i've been eagerly awaiting the chance to watch it

Unfortunately don't know of any rips :( the only thing I’ve watched is the final scene of the movie, which someone posted to the subreddit. I’ll let you know if I find/hear of any!
