Nina’s favorite holiday is actually secretly Valentines Day, she never celebrated it before but the fact there’s a holiday to show your appreciation for your loved ones is really sweet to her. And since she knows sometimes she doesn’t come off as loving someone, she tries to at least let them knows she cares about them and loves them that day

Like for her family, she makes them breakfast but the pancakes are heart shaped and she gives them all a kiss on the cheek before she goes. She gives the CoC those little store bought Valentines you got back in elementary school with little candies taped to them. Then for her boyfriend, she asks Bella for some advice on what to do and puts together a really romantic date for them…..which they will of course have to do AFTER she’s done opening all the gifts and candy Ronan got her-

Ronan also has a hard time sleeping now, cause he tries to stay up cause he is honestly kinda worried his gf will stab him in their sleep. But also cause he likes to comfort her before she wakes up, so when he hears her start to whimper and talk in her sleep, he wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her onto his chest and rubs her back and kisses her forehead and gently talks to her and tells her he’s right there

Then when he dozes off at the base later, she kisses him on the forehead and thanks him quietly

Nina and Ronan still have their own set of promise rings, when they’re laying in bed Ronan likes to press his hand against hers and see the hand size difference but also see their rings together

And since Nina currently doesn’t care enough or have the energy to do her own hair, he’ll sit behind her on her bed and do all these braids in her hair while he talks her ear off, knowing he won’t get a response. He just tries to cheer her up as best he can, cause he knows she doesn’t want to be cheered up right now but she just looks sad and miserable all the time so he tries his best

Ronan likes to have Nina sit in his lap with his arms around her waist, she uses a really specific shampoo that almost smells like cinnamon but also almond and he loves it and will bury his face in her neck, just where her hair ends. And he’ll run his hand along her thigh or side, and she’s not even paying attention to his affection as she casually scrolls on her phone

Never mind, Nina brain rot-

She loves to wrap her arms around Ronan’s shoulders from behind when he’s sitting down, and just chilling while he continues playing video games or talking to whoever, and just casual domestic moments of her kissing him on the cheek and handing him a plate of food before wrapping her arms around his neck and her hands resting on his (usually bare) chest cause dude insists on never wearing a god damn shirt-

Nina also has to save Ronan from the stupid as all shit situations he gets himself into, so they totally have those moments where she’s carrying him bridal style away from an explosion, then he says something stupid and she drops him

But then there’s rare moments where he’s the one saving her, like maybe she got her legs sliced off and healing whole body parts back takes a while, so he carries her since she can’t walk. Or maybe there was a really big explosion that she got too close to and she’s shaking too hard to walk so he picks her up and she buries her face in his neck as he takes her home

OKAY BUT RONAN CARRIES A PICTURE OF HIM AND NINA IN HIS WALLET AND ITS ONE WHERE HE GOT HER TO SMILE

He remembers the day like it was yesterday, they were on their way back to the base with the rest of their team on a successful mission, so they were all pumped up and feeling like celebrating. Nina was her stoic self as usual, but when they all got to a random diner to get food and recharge, they were all chatting and Ronan can’t remember what he said that got her to laugh, but it was an actual laugh and an actual smile

So it’s a candid photo that Lucy had taken of them, Ronan was smiling down at his gf with a dumb smile on his face cause his joke was stupid, but Nina was looking up at him with a genuine smile on her face and Ronan swears it’s the most beautiful picture he’s ever seen so he keeps it safe in his wallet

So when she was gone, he would stare at that picture while trying to think of places she could be. And now when he’s trying to get her to be herself again, he looks at that picture as a reminder of how far she had gotten, and how far he needs to help her get to again

Ronan also tries to make borscht for Nina, she taught him how to make it once but he’s not exactly the best cook so it always came out weird somehow. But he brings her a bowl of it even though he knows she hasn’t eaten in weeks now so she may not eat this, but she actually takes the bowl from him and takes a few sips. And yeah it’s not exactly what it should taste like, but she finishes a bowl of it cause she appreciates all his effort and sticking by her side the whole time

He also tries to get her to do some of the daily things she used to do. Like he asks if she wants to try listening to some ballet music to try and get her in the mood to dance, but she just shakes her head. He asks if maybe she wants to take a small trip somewhere, or maybe go to her childhood home for a little bit to see if that would help, but she also shakes her head. But he eventually gets her to agree to just take a small walk around the island with him, so he knows it’s gonna be baby steps to get her back to feeling like Nina again
