Some Roose lore
Gonna ramble a bit about Roose, I'd like to think that out of all my ocs he's the one who struggles the most in adjusting into the school life. The new routine and environment are all new and it took him longer to feel comfortable.
it really don't look like he was struggling as he's too cheerful to others and have an out going personality in the first place. it only gets obvious when he'd get homesick.
his voice gets gentler and not as loud as he used to be, stays in bed for almost the whole day, and barely does anything. he misses home a lot, he misses his family as he only have his dad left.
Even if he's very much friendly he's afraid to get close to others because he fears that one day he'll lose them, specially when it comes to other race who have a shorter life spend. Losing his mother was a lot for a young kid so the fear stuck to him :c
"To live life to the fullest and leave no regrets" was his mother's wish for him, even if he's able to fulfill the first half he's afraid he's unable to fulfill the 2nd. He wants to get closer to someone as friends, maybe even more but he's just afraid. Roose wants to feel like he's able to step out too and live a filling life too as his mother's wishes
