The tasty Root Beer Glazed Ham will take your holiday ham to the next level. Root beer, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard are mixed together to make a sweet and sour glaze that goes well with the juicy ham. This is a fun and tasty choice for any occasion!
Ingredients: 1 8-10 lb fully cooked ham. 2 cups root beer. 1 cup brown sugar, packed. 1/4 cup Dijon mustard. 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. 1 tablespoon whole cloves. 1 orange, sliced for garnish. 1 cinnamon stick optional. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Turn on your oven and heat it up to 325F 163C. Cut the ham's surface in a diamond shape, making cuts that are 1/2 inch deep. Root beer, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar should all be mixed together in a saucepan. Over medium-low heat, bring to a simmer and stir until the sugar is gone. Put cloves into the ham so that they are at the points where the diamond pattern meets. Make sure to get the root beer glaze all the way through the scored cuts in the ham. Add salt and pepper to the ham as needed. If you want, you can add a cinnamon stick to the glaze. Put the ham in a roasting pan and bake it for 15 to 18 minutes per pound. Every 30 minutes, baste the ham with the root beer glaze. Add orange slices to the ham during the last 30 minutes of cooking. When the internal temperature of the ham reaches 140F 60C, take it out of the oven. Let the ham sit for 15 minutes before cutting it up. As a tasty drizzle, serve the Root Beer Glazed Ham slices with the rest of the glaze. Root beer adds a unique and tasty twist to this glazed ham recipe.
