I fully believe that amulets and talismans can be just as effective in your personal working space as they are on your body.
Like… if you can't physically wear a bracelet or a necklace or w/e for w/e reason(s), placing it in/on your workspace (wherever you do your work) or someplace you deem 'safe' will still protect you wherever you are.
Sometimes you can't wear or carry something, for a myriad of reasons. Leaving it someplace safe &/or magical can still invoke the protective effects for your person.
In my opinion, anyway. I like to refer to this as 'rooted' magic; or 'rooting' a working (not to be confused with rootwork, of course): magic that is 'rooted' in one area, but still able to affect things/people far beyond that area. That there's an area that exists as an extension of the worker's body, and which can act as a surrogate of the body for things that the physical, human body can't do?
I know the concept kind of already exists in magic as a whole (I mean… that's spellwork) but I feel like apotropaic magic gets left behind in this regard: that you have to have the amulet/talisman/charm/etc. physically present to work. I just don't agree with that. I know it can be psychologically beneficial to have it on your person, but why would it lose it's abilities and qualities if you left it at home, especially if it's somewhere safe &/or magical?
