The dream began in a darkened
lab. All of the lights were off –
there was not an inhabitant save
for Sans himself.
Sans walked through the lab, knowing
full well where he was going. He entered
a small room that was utterly trashed,
full of papers and food strewn about.
On a small table was a collection of
vials filled with red liquid. They were
labeled DETERMINATION.
A shaking, skeletal hand reached out
and grabbed one.
The dream then skipped forward in time.
Sans was holding a syringe full of the red stuff
directly to his soul.
[⌘]-- This... this wasn’t her dream. She remembered herself and Sans clearly dozing off in the living room once neither had enough energy to watch the movie that was on TV after Papyrus had gone to bed.
And despite still being ‘in her element’... for once she did not know how she was supposed to behave in the environment. While she was rather used to other people ending up in her dreams, she still hadn’t quite experienced the other way around before! Two people’s dreams by no means go by the same ‘rules’ or ‘logics’ (Not that there are such things in dreams, exactly.) It wasn’t in Madotsuki’s knowledge how this dreamscape works, or what could be the possible consequences of her, an exterior force, interfering with its events if there would be any... or its inner demons.
She managed to point out, however, how the dreamscape here is so concrete and accurate, and could very well have existed in the real world... But she couldn’t tell if they was a vivid dream or a lucid-dream, or both... or actually a memory.
Was she in an hospital? No it couldn’t be that. Hospitals hardly ever are left in the dark like this! Nor are they devoid of medics. Yet, from the corner of her eyes, she spotted Sans, and how he seemed to move as if he knew this place very well ensured her who this dreamscape belonged to.
Quickly checking the window-like stamp of her sweater, Madotsuki figured she could still use her Effects here. Good riddance. Still unsure about what could happen if she directly interfered with events here weighted her decision on which Effect to choose.
{ Effect Equipped:TRIANGLE KERCHIEF}
With the headband soon placed on her head, she wasted no time in turning translucent to invisibility, then set to quietly follow the skeleton.
Invisible thanks to the Triangle Kerchief Effect, the child actually could watch the situation pretty closely so long she didn’t bump into anything (While invisible, she was not intangible whatsoever,) basically by Sans’ side. And due to the proximity, she could take in details that otherwise could have been missed; Such as the ‘DETERMINATION’ label, the red substance that from close up she somehow could tell wasn’t really blood then recognizing it as the substance that oozed out of Sans’ injuries once when he cracked his skull, and finally, his shaking hands. While she didn’t have the whole knowledge of the situation, she could tell this was a very heavy one. It didn’t feel right.
The way Sans held that syringe made a knot in her stomach. And watching him jamming the needle into the culmination of his very being made her heart sink. She could tell this was not pleasant. No, far from that. This was... all wrong.
Madotsuki wished she actually had interfered, even if it wouldn’t have changed a thing in the real world anymore.
Not even bothering to turn off or unequip the Effect, she threw all her uncertainties out the window and hugged the skeleton tightly but still comfortingly. God, it must be like being hugged by a ghost. Still invisible, she could only muster a couple of words.
“I’m so s- sorry, bro...”
