curious about why you put jet as a virgo!

ah i got you! besides the obvious reason of him being from the earth nation and virgo being an earth sign, he’s also a hard-worker who refuses to give up on something once he sets his mind to it. virgos are known to be somewhat of workaholics and i can definitely see jet being like that, he made his job of leading the freedom fighters pretty much his entire life. virgos can also be a little judgey (i have a virgo moon so this is a self drag as well lol) and jet certainly had a “holier-than-thou” attitude at times, like when the gaang wouldn’t go to the measures he would against the fire nation.

lmao i didn’t see this until just now and I don’t know how to actually respond so I screenshotted it I only know about Victorian interest in flower language; obviously if you say a flower means a certain thing, then that’s sort of. Subjective to context and culture, fake, whatever.  What I mean more specifically by fake re: Victorian flower language is that it was a fad that printing presses exploited at the time. Every company came out with their own dictionary describing what word mapped to which flower, and people would make tussie-mussies or little trendy shitty bouqets that theoretically mapped to a full sentence. The reason it materialized specifically in this form is because Lady Mary Wortley Montagu spent a couple years in Turkey and noticed that women in the slums could not read, but developed their own secret language to communicate. Inanimate objects would be traded between the women, with each object mapping to an Arabic word (usually because they rhymed or something). She wrote about this (probably in a really gross, Orientalist way I haven’t gotten to that yet in her letters) to her wealthy friends in the UK and it became something The Wealthy People Decided Was In, only they thought flowers would be something much better and much Prettier.  I don’t have as full a history on this subject as I want, so. I won’t add sources because no one should take this as anything meaningful.

YES i totally get you. i LOVE affectionate name calling in fics so much (so much!!!) but in a lot of ereri it's not even affectionate anymore. it's straight up meanness and that's not a thing that should be presented as part of a healthy relationship. "brat" can be cute once in a while if it's clear there's love behind it but there's not always love behind it, sometimes it's straight-up cruelty.
