Last month during #SXSW in #austintexas I collaborated on a big activation downtown. Hold my hand is a sculptural installation executed in rope to symbolize community bonds. Each form represents two arms connected with a unity knot. Together, this work shows a community holding hands. From the very beginning of this project Dutch Small engaged the Austin community, collaborating on the immersive installation experience you are sitting in tonight. Artists from a multitude of disciplines have worked on every bit of the vision. Talena Martinez, Executive Director of Austin Children’s Theater and Auxiliary Mom, Zac Crofford from Everything Industries and Connor Hopkins from Trouble Puppet Theater, along with Genevieve Temple and Sophia Bastidas to collaborate with me to realize the spirit of unity surrounding us. All of us. There were many hands of crafters, costumers, puppeteers, sculptures, carpenters, culinary and beverage artists, event coordinators, and graphic designers are among the artists holding hands because we believe we are stronger together. #health #technology #ropeinstallation #art #collaboration (at Cooper's Old Time Pit BBQ Austin) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv4_zfsD-9w/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=zi4yuqjx085g
