This is the Victorian Ropery at Chatham Dockyards - a rope factory - housed inside one of the longest rooms in London. They have to stretch the entire thing out to full length and then twist and turn it round to feed the strands into each other. If you go inside then you’ll get met by a costumed actor who tells you what life was like when he worked there 100 years ago
