poseidon is a very difficult god to catch the eye of, and a borderline impossible one to impress, but should you manage to beat the odds you’ll find him to be a deeply protective — and surprisingly doting — lover. one that treats you like you’re the only thing in creation worth existing, and who has absolutely no problem making his favouritism obvious to anyone and everyone around you
his favourite places to kiss you are your wrists, knuckles, and your lips. and his favourite places to be kissed are his lips, jawline, and his knuckles
he has absolutely zero tolerance for any sort of disrespect towards you, your domain, or even the things or people that are important to you, and he excels at shutting such things down swiftly, and violently should the need arise — he is a very skilled fighter after all
being his lover means that you’ll never be left wanting for anything and all of your needs, no matter how trivial or minor, will be met the moment they arise — but he never makes a big deal out of the gifts he gives you as he sees them as the bare minimum that he can do for you
even with you he isn’t the most talkative person, but whenever he does speak up it’s usually either to offer you some thoughtful response to a question you asked or a genuine compliment — otherwise he much prefers to just listen to you talk (and while he rarely responds he does look at you and make it clear that he’s listening to you, lest you think he’s being neglectful)
poseidon always shows up for you when you want him to be there… even if his presence is so intimidating that he usually ends up frightening the rest of those in attendance into stunned silence (or derail their conversations into being about how the poseidon is there… but rest assured his focus is entirely on you)
again, it takes a great deal to catch his eye and once you have his heart he is fiercely and unwaveringly loyal to you — in fact, it’s like pretty much nobody aside from you and his brothers exist to him to the point of it almost being comical how blatantly he will ignore or brush off anyone who tries to flirt with him
in return he does have a bit of a possessive streak, as all gods do, and he has no qualms about utelising his reputation and his skills as a fighter to force any would-be-rivals to back down and leave you (and your relationship) alone
