Sure, plenty of people had called her a bit foolish for just agreeing to fly halfway across the country to move to Catalina because a man asked her to and was offering money. But he seemed nice enough in his messages, and she’d be sure to keep them in public places in the beginning until she knew him better. However she couldn’t believe it’d taken so long for her to register that the Catalina she was going to, was also the same one Rory lived on. Nevertheless, she’d messaged him once she was through security to tell him the news! I just realized I forgot to tell you I’m moving to Catalina. You live there, right? One thing had led to another, and now she was finally going to meet her internet pen pal in the flesh! It was quite exciting for her, as making friends didn’t come as naturally for Phil as it did to many others.
Now that she’d arrived in Catalina though, she’d gotten a bit distracted talking to the pilot that had flown the plane, seeing as she loved learning more about the mechanics of flying one. So engrossed was she that it took her a few minutes to realize her name was being called, and finally she began to blink around owlishly, plainly confused. It came again and finally she was able to pinpoint it. She recognized him from the photo he’d sent so she knew who to look for at the airport, and called out his name. “Rory!” she said with a wave and a grin, saying a quick goodbye to the captain. That’s right, Rory had said he was going to meet her here! “Rory, it’s me! Phil!”
