Paul Weller's True Meanings is one of the many records, which ended the 10's for the veteran musicians, who had issues during that era. I mean, Bryan Ferry concluded the period with another albums of covers, Bitter-Sweet, where he continued to redo his tunes in the style of The Jazz Age. There's something melancholic about him doing such a thing within this set of his career. One could claim this might be him preparing for a goodbye, since the last few discs by him felt like a prolonged farewell. Mind you, he appears to be fine, yet something seems off about his current enterprises. While he had an affinity to return to his old works from the 70's on, he rarely had a time as the 10's, where the majority of his output ended up as the recalibration of what he did before.
