I had the pleasure of illustrating the board game “Rosalie.”
The artwork is also featured as a stretch goal reward, so if you're a board game fan, be sure to check it out! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/uchibacoyapiece/rosalie
She’s my best friend in the world. When I bedrot she bedrots with me
Campball and Rosalie's relationship means so much to me.
Especially if you subscribe to the headcanon that Campball was a mama's boy but she couldn't handle his bipolar (i agree with this headcanon), and that's why he reacts the way he does when his dad says his mom is on pills (Campball appreciates the irony of her being a "loony" as well when she refused to acknowledge his mental issues).
But Rosalie was a mother who was literally driven to ocd because of her son getting sick.
Campball is her son and she is his mother. Except his illness didn't kill him and she loved her son properly.
Rosalie believed in her sons illness to such an extent that she's sacrificed her quality of life in a desprate hail Mary to save her child.
When Campball's mother refused to acknowledge his illness and shunned him away.
Campball is a manic depressive whos disorder can cause self harming behavior, but with meds and management he can live a generally normal life.
When Rosalie's son had an illness that no amount of medication or management could stop from killing him.
And she tried. she tried so hard that it destroyed her quality of life.
Her face when Campball is pretending to be manic and acts like he's going to throw himself out of the window. She watches and she's so nervous. She's so afraid that she'll lose another son.
And when Rosalie tells Campball about her son and how he died and why she has ocd. His little "oh, Rosalie :(".
Because she's a mother who would do anything she could to save her son, when he had a mother who would do everything she could to ignore his problems.
They make me SICK
