So I did this amazing New Year's spread from @rosaofswords and quite frankly this is terrifyingly accurate.... Apparently my theme for the year is my same goal in therapy 😂 I get it universe, you can stop shoving it in my face
Eee! @rosaofswords gave me her old Thoth Deck! I am so excited to play with it. And she and @yuna-the-autumn-witch wrote me a really beautiful letter inside a sunflower card. Good way to wake up 💕 Love you both!
OOOOOO WHEN I'M DONE WITH FEELING (intuitively), I want - Textual Reading. Textual - OOOOOOO, TEXTUAL READING - It was like one in the morning by the time I got there I can't be entirely blamed for my behavior (Yes I absolutely can staying up like that was a terrible decision). Mentor and reading from yesterday with an addendum from today that pretty much explains itself. Literally couldn't make it to either of my appointments because I WAS WORKING AND THE NINE OF CUPS REVERSED IS TOTALLY ABOUT NOT BEING LAZY RIGHT (no, no it's not, that is not the entire point of that card, don't be like me here kids).
Queen of Swords
I am new to Tarotblr, and I’m eager to jump on the #TarottotheCourt bandwagon with the Queen of Swords.
“It was not possible to think except with one’s brain, no one could stand outside himself in order to check the functioning of his inner processes.” ― Stanisław Lem, Solaris
“The truth no matter how hard it is to bear, must be accepted and confronted head on because it is real.” ― Germany Kent
The Queen of Swords is special to me. Why? Well - she’s me!
When I first started to realize that I was the Queen of Swords, I didn’t want to admit it. Let’s face it, the swords are probably the scariest suit - all those double edges. Plus she’s....well, she’s kind of cold.
I wasn’t wrong, either. Our Lady of Swords is pretty cold, or at least she can seem that way. She is ruled by her head, not her heart. Her mantra is truth, honesty and logic. She is brutally honest. She will come at you with truths about yourself and the world regardless of whether you wish to hear them or not. She cuts straight to the heart of the matter and never dithers, dissembles, or deceives. As such, she has no time for drama, gushy romance or any over-wrought display of emotion. She generally prefers her own company and does not feel the need to have others around her. In fact, she values her “alone time” a great deal. She may be a bit of an introvert or fiercely independent. She doesn’t “need” others, but rather chooses them.
The Queen of Swords is an intellectual. She loves the pursuits of the mind. She is a quick thinker, good at solving problems and has a sharp wit (naturally). She makes a good leader, as she can look at many sides to a problem and remain impartial even in the midst of conflict. Although she may seem aloof, that is not to say that she is completey devoid of emotions. She is very aware of her emotions, but she keeps a tight lid on them; they will never win over her mind. As a truth-teller, she is also truthful about herself. What you see is what you get. She will never approach you with falsehoods or frippery.
She reminds me of the practice of meditation, when you are sharply aware of your surroundings but you let your thoughts float past you, neither making judgements about them nor engaging with them. She encourages us focus, like adjusting the lens of a camera so what was a blurry mess of colours comes into sharp relief. We may need to see a problem from more than one perspective, as she would do - there is never only one solution available. Have we missed something? We should try to look at all sides of an issue.
It can be easy to get caught up in the events and emotions that life throws at us, but like the Queen we sometimes need to step back and use our heads to find the best course of action. This can mean that we need a harsh dose of honesty about ourselves. We may need to make a hard decision, or admit to some uncomfortable truths. The best course is not always the easiest. “Follow your heart” is all well and good, but there comes a time in every person’s life as they mature when they will be faced with a situation where the heart just cannot give the best answer. It is then that the Queen of Swords can help us, analyzing the situation, weighting the pros and cons, and making a choice free of emotional attachment.
On the downside, the Queen can be distant or aloof. She may be out of touch with her emotions, or struggle to express herself. She may become so caught up in her head that she neglects her emotional and spiritual side. She may also be failing to show affection or pay proper attention to the emotions of others in her life. She can sometimes even be cruel.
Looking back through this, I barely even had to write about this card. She is so like me it’s uncanny. I’m essentially writing about myself. As I’ve matured, I’ve come to accept my Swordy-ness, and even embrace it. I’m proud of my Queen of Swords qualities, but also aware of their limitations and their pitfalls.
To finish, I have always felt that there is a touch of melancholy about this Queen. Although she is strong, she is no stranger to heartache. She rules the swords, after all, and they are often the harbingers of grief and pain. As each sword has a double edge, so too does she - one moment she brings joy, the next devastation. She is ever quiet and calm, but beneath the still surface lie vastly deep wells of both happiness and sorrow.

Allec Reviews Rosa of Swords
Shop URL: Rosa of Swords
Shop Owner: @rosaofswords
Date Reading was Ordered: May 6th, 2017 (morning)
Date Reading was Received: May 6th, 2017 (afternoon)
Readings Purchased: “Introspective Gunslinger” for $15 and “Minako Morning” for $5
Overall Rating: 10/10
Disclaimer: Rosa in no way solicited this review from me. I did purchased this reading for myself for my own reasons.
First I want to mention how happy I was with the turnaround. Granted, on Rosa’s shop she states what hours she will be available and when she won’t, so I caught her shop was “open” for business. You can, of course, order any day of the week at any time -- but I imagine the turnaround will be slower on days she states she’s not available.
Both readings I purchased required no question from me, but I asked Rosa to narrow the focus of the “Introspective Gunslinger” spread to zero in on my self-confidence. The spread did just that, and Rosa’s gentle words helped confirmed with what my private readings had been telling me. Then I ordered the “Minako Morning” spread just to sure up some things, and once again Rosa worked her magic and assured me of things I needed to know -- as well as giving me some plan of action for tackling the problems I am having.
One thing that I think is very unique to Rosa that I may adopt in my readings at some point is that she explains the reading prior to getting into the cards. For example, she explained what the Minako Morning was intended to do and how it was intended to help. Then, she went into the reading.
Her readings are concise. There isn’t a lot of fluff around the raw interpretations she gives. This helped me, because I could reread the sections and allow their messages to really sink into me. And these meanings resonated so well with me that I don’t know what else she could have written.
In each reading, I got a picture of the cards laid out in the spread. Rosa picked which decks she used, and I think she picked very well for me.
At any rate, Rosa is an A+ diviner who doesn’t nearly get the recognition she deserves. Hopefully this review sheds some light towards her and her talents.

Another new tarot spread.
This one compliments the one inspired by @tarotprose and was actually inspired by @rosaofswords (one of her random photos in the random photo challenge I tagged in her remind me of a warrior princess... so I went with it!)
This one is about tackling and fighting back against a situation.
It tells you how you are handling the situation, what keeps you safe, what keeps you “in the dark”, how the situation can help and harm you, what gives the situation strength and how the situation can push you.
This is meant to shine some light on a situation and give you a might sword to fight back with.
Please enjoy

I don't know if you've been told this but thank you so much for your tarot blog and all that you have been doing lately. It is greatly appreciated. :D
Thank you for your support! <3 It’s really been my pleasure, I’ve been feeling a lot like I’ve found “my people” here in the tarot community. I’m equally grateful for everyone here, it’s been a joy to follow your blog and so many others. I feel like I’ve been learning so much, so fast, since joining up. Tarot has been an almost lifelong interest, but these last few weeks (has it even been a month yet?) have been the most amazing, jammed packed and exhilarating tarot experience ever.
Which is a very long way of saying thank you for the thank you, it means so much to me. <3
