Amateur Wine Tasting #2

Someone who knows hardly anything about what he’s talking about tastes wines he knows hardly anything about.

Rosatello NV Moscato- Crystal clear, nearly truly white wine.  Incredibly mild nose.  I smell white fleshed fruits, mild peaches, hints of lime and citrus.  Wine is sweet, but not cloying, a very good balance with acidity.  I taste fresh grapes, and fresh fruits, hints of flavored rock candy?  A lot of fresh, clean flavors that marry with that sweetness nicely, as does some very welcome acid.  I feel small bubbles bursting on my tongue?  This adds to the crispness of the wine, and its refreshing notes.  Finish has hints of earthy, stony tones, and acid. I feel the wine still on my teeth, it is sweet for sure.  This would go wonderfully at the end of a meal, with a bowl of fruit salad or maybe a crème caramel.  A decent, sweet, and refreshing wine, a welcome break from the summer heat and a temptation for another glass.  84/100

Behind the Scenes with Cate Parr for Rosatello

Rosatello wines are sweet, just like Cate Parr.  We came to her with a delilghfully rough concept and she was able to turn our idea into something so fresh it could have been published on the cover of Vogue Turkie or Deutche, which is fitting since that is where most of her work is appearing! Rosatello is a new, young and fresh Italian wine brand that’s inspired by the original Italian product launched in the 1950s.  Since then, Rosatello has been re-crafted to suit the contemporary palates in the US.  Challenge:  The sweet wine drinker already has her “go to” wine that she’s satisfied with. Sweet semi-sparkling wines make every social situation more fun. We shouldn’t have to wait until some glamorous, Sex-in-the-City type of night to break out the bubbles.
