full name: marley corinne rose. face claim: melissa benoist. gender + pronouns: cisfemale, she/her. orientation: bisexual, biromantic. hometown: brooklyn, ny. birthday + zodiac: july 5th, cancer.

Marley has the utmost love and respect for her mom, who raised her and Eliza alone for the majority of their lives, and has always counted herself lucky that Eliza was by her side. Of course, she knew nothing else, but God - she never wanted to. She looked to her sister for protection from the world, for advice, for a pair of arms to hold her tightly when things were wrong - and they were wrong a lot. She admired her sister’s outspoken nature and over the years tried to be that way, but she always felt herself clamming up out of anxiety. It frustrated her that she wasn’t anything like her, and eventually she realized that she needed to learn not to be like Eliza, but to be like herself.
Ever since their father left, Marley has been plagued by anxiety and depression. It lay dormant within her until she was about twelve, starting to wake up with panic attacks in the middle of the night, having trouble getting to sleep, intrusive thoughts coming at her from all angles, most of the time for no reason at all. She was consistently asking herself why she wasn’t worth staying for - why Eliza wasn’t. She couldn’t imagine anyone leaving because of Eliza, so it had to be her, right? Maybe she’d cried too much, thrown one tantrum too many. Marley wrote letters to her father and gave them to their mother to send to their father, and her mother gave her a solemn look, taking her hand and squeezing it, “I don’t know where Daddy is,” she’d tell her sadly. Still, she hoped that it would change and her mom would surprise her one day, letting her know that she would actually send the letters. However, Millie Rose couldn’t find it in her heart to lie to her girls under any circumstance and the answer never changed.
The day she picked up a guitar for the first time at age thirteen was when she found something that was just her thing. She began lessons with a family friend and as she learned more chords and strum patterns, she became inspired by the singer songwriters she already loved listening to growing up to write her own songs and learn to compose her own music. Something about it opened her up, it didn’t fix all of her problems by any means, but it helped her put the things that bothered her into words and as she got older, it became one of her main sources of comfort. To this day, the first person to hear any song that she writes is her sister, who is considered to be her biggest fan.
Marley found comfort in starting therapy as a teenager. Being able to sit and talk to someone about everything that was going on in her life was healing for her. It helped her accept that their father leaving wasn’t actually anyone’s fault. Sometimes people just weren’t meant to be parents, and although that explanation still frustrated her, it made sense. She went in for sessions every Thursday starting from age sixteen, working on coping skills for her anxiety and getting the appropriate medications from a psychiatrist to help regulate her depression. She was inspired by the people who were helping her get out of the woods, thinking that it was a miracle that people could touch other people’s lives the way that her therapist and psychiatrist had.
Marley’s journey brought her to Johnson & Whales University in Rhode Island. She attempted to live on campus for awhile, but she couldn’t deal with having to share a shower with a bunch of different girls at once, the bad food, and on top of it - she felt guilty that her mom was paying her room and board. She knew that she could pull her own weight in terms of living if she worked hard enough, so she left the dorms and moved to a little town - Whatever, Rhode Island. Reason one was because that’s where her sister lived, and reason two…well, she just really loved the name. She moved into the same complex as her sister, got a job nannying children of well off couples in the area that paid surprisingly well, and has been continuing to write music in her free time.

full name: elizabeth caroline rose. face claim: melissa benoist. gender + pronouns: cisfemale, she/her. orientation: bisexual, homoromantic. hometown: brooklyn, ny. united states. birthday + zodiac: july 5th, cancer.
headcanons.
Growing up in Brooklyn, New York with a single working mom and a twin, Elizabeth Caroline Rose knew what it meant to be poor as hell. It was a struggle growing up, scraping pennies and not having a lot of money for fun on the side, but Millie Rose made it work. She was determined to give her kids a happy life so she would surprise them with trips into the city after saving for weeks and it always made up for all the hardship to see their faces light up as bright as the lights in Times Square. Once Eliza was old enough to work, she picked up a job to help Millie out to the best of her ability. Sure, it wasn’t ideal being in that situation most of the time, but Eliza didn’t mind it. Her mother was beyond strong doing what she did and taking care of the twins on her own and Eliza admired her for it. She did the best she could for them and Eliza could see that. Growing up, she was a very motherly, protective girl to her younger twin. She was around when their mother wasn’t and made sure to help them out as much as possible. She would make lunches while their mother was already at school getting the morning breakfast for the students ready, she would make sure her sibling got ready in time and was always looking out for them.
Despite being confident in herself and having a loud, in your face personality, Eliza had insecurities. It likely stemmed from the fact that their father up and left them when the twins were only seven. That token story you always here, he said he’d be right back and over fifteen years later he’s still a no show. She’s very guarded because of it now as well. She doesn’t let people in as easily as she would like to. She always has that lingering fear that maybe one day if she does let a person in then they’ll just up and leave without warning like her father did her and her sibling. So to hide all that, Eliza has one night stands and short lived relationships that seemed to burn bright at first then burn out seconds later. If you make yourself a presence in Eliza Rose’s life and she actually keeps you around? You should consider yourself lucky if you know more than the bare minimum about her.
Eliza was always a free spirit. She tried to go to college after graduating high school, but wasn’t doing too well with the whole structure of things. She liked to do things on her own pace and not have to have things on a structured schedule. Within a few months, she dropped out and told her mom she was going away from everything she new in New York in search for something better. With barely any money, a few suitcases and her backpack, Eliza found herself in Whatever, Rhode Island.
Always struggling with money, Eliza knew she would want to take up two jobs to insure that she had enough money for herself and some to spare in case her twin would need it. She first found a job at a local coffee shop being a barista, but didn’t like the amount of money it brought in. Eventually she found a job at The Blue Angel and admitted that she definitely liked the attention it gave her from the males who constantly came in. The money wasn’t half bad either. She may be overworked a lot of times, but was glad she was secure financially.
Eliza was someone who didn’t have a lot of luck in the romance department. She would date boys and girls alike in hopes of finding the soulmate she hoped that her father had been for her mother once upon a time before disappearing from their lives. She found herself more times than not being more drawn to women than men. Girls were soft and yet overwhelmingly beautiful. At heart Eliza was a hopeless romantic. She bounced from relationship to relationship in hopes of trying to find someone she could see herself spending the rest of her life with. That obviously has yet to happen for her considering how many failed relationships she’s had. With how many times her heart has been broken with her high hopes, Eliza has become a bit guarded. She is now wary of romance in general and has been trying to stay away from it unless it comes to her first.

Name: Rose Granger-Weasley Age: 24 Blood Status: Halfblood Schooling: Hogwarts - Gryffindor Occupation: St. Mungo’s Healer-In-Training Magical Diseases Political Stance: Maggle United Personality: ISTJ (The Logistician)
Rose was an intelligent child, the first to read, the one to solve puzzles the fastest, the one who spoke like a little adult. Her parent’s were obviously proud and that shone a light on everything she did. Be it playing with her cousins, policing about the proper way to play candyland or getting her photo taken for winning a junior potions competition, Rose strived to be an exceptional child. Her parent’s names were well known, her mother’s especially after she reached the status of Minister of Magic when Rose was only thirteen years old. With the light of her parent’s pride came the shadow of her mother’s influence.
Entering Hogwarts, professors expected her to excel and she did not disappoint. Every class she excelled in, though unlike her mother she knew her destination and didn’t bother with taking classes she didn’t need. That sort of thing made waste of her time and she was teen on a mission. She was the leader of every study group, the head organizer for all chants and crafts for quidditch matches and the undefeated champion of Wizard’s Chess. She made excellent use of her time at school, making the right friends who all turned out to be prefects with her forming the perfect foundation for her as Head Girl. She was blind to the truth of things as all she could see was her goal but she was leaving a lot of her family at school with her behind, often only seeing Albus and Lucy at family holidays.
After leaving school she easily found an internship at the Ministry's Research Committee. She was successful in leading the committee in joint partnership with the Institute of Muggle Studies in adapting wireless electronic notepads with the difficult but traditional journal communications charms into working communication devices for the wizarding world. Still with every achievement the young Rose made at the Ministry, she seemed to be nothing more than the Minister’s Daughter. When her parents started talking about extending their ten year goals and her mother stepping down as Minister to work closely with the International Confederation of Wizards, she saw the opportunity. No way would she have to hear the whispers in the corners of her work hall's about her only getting as far as she was because she was the second coming of her mother.
Refocusing her life she walked away from a job at the Ministry and restarted her life at St. Mungo’s in the Magical Diseases ward. Ever focused she’s now a Junior Resident, a vocal advocate of Maggle United and often attends protests with a medical bag on hand to help with exhaustion.
Scorpius Malfoy: Her former schoolmate and evergreen would be suitor she is constantly exasperated by him but would secretly miss the attention.
Atticus Wood: A fellow medical professional, Rose frequently calls on Atticus as her attending nurse due to his experience in the field.
Anna Sato: Her roommate she found through an ad the two often have tension in the flat with Rose’s need for immaculate organization and Anna’s constant playing after Rose’s twelve hours on hospital rounds.
