Meeting Rose

[Misty]
Misty walked down the hallway before seeing Hero sneaking out. “Hero I can see you, you know. You could at least stay.” She laughed softly before seeing her son run over and kissing her cheek before explaining he was going to help at the Level E Camp and then running away. She shook her head and went to see Charlie. “Hi sweetie, are you ready?” She asked him, smiling.
[Charlie]
Charlie had been practicing how to control his powers recently and while he struggled greatly with it, he was getting better. “What if she doesn’t like me? What if she thinks I am weird?” He asks nervously as his eyes flashed slightly.
[Misty]
“And why would she think that hm? You are incredibly handsome and so sweet. What is there not to like?” Misty asked. She knew how much Charlie struggled with his powers and while she could have just taken them away when he was younger, she decided against that. “I love you and I don’t think you are weird. And you can’t say it’s because I am your mother, I could still love you and think you are weird. I mean you did try to kill me a couple of times.” She joked.
[Charlie]
“I don’t know...I am a hybrid. What if their kingdom doesn’t like me?” He asks before going to say something before Misty said that he couldn’t say it was because she was his mother. He closed his mouth before puffing out his cheeks. “I didn’t mean to. What if my powers scare her though? I can’t control them fully yet.”
[Misty]
“You asked me that exact question when I told you about her and I don’t think she will mind. Besides you can’t be alone with her until you are married. You know the rules Charlie.” She said before laughing, “I never said you did, but if I can love you and deal with you giving me nightmares until you turned 10. Anyone can love you.”
[Charlie]
“I know the rules...are you and dad really going to have to be around when I talk to her. But I want what you and dad have. You know...find your soulmate thing. What if she is around me and realizes she wants someone else?” He asks as he fixes his tie nervously.
[Misty]
“No, your advisor will be present and hers as well. It’s formality so you know, you don’t end up having sex or something.” She moved over to help him fix his tie. “Would you stop? She will love you. It is impossible not to. But if you go with that attitude you will push her away. You have to be confident Charlie.”
[Charlie]
Charlie could feel his cheeks turning red at her words. “MOM, I don’t even want to do that.” He mumbles the last part as she helps him fix his tie. “I don’t know...I feel weird that people will be watching our every move. She is living here with us right?”
[Misty]
“What?” She laughed. “I am just saying you have to stay a virgin and so does she or we will have an angry kingdom on our hands.” She told him as she frowned slightly. “If you aren’t ready Charlie we can always have that conversation with Hero again. He is older and it’s not like he is dating anyone, so he can do this and when you are ready me and your father can look for another alliance.”
[Charlie]
“I know that part...no it’s okay. I can do this. It’s just my nerves again.” He tells her not wanting her to worry about him. “We can go now.”
[Misty]
“Well there is nothing to be worried about.” She said cupping his cheeks. “It will be perfect, because you are perfect and she would be lucky to have you.” She smiled.
[Charlie]
“Okay mom.” He says before playfully rolling his eyes. “Let’s go before I lose my nerve again.” Charlie jokes.
[Misty]
“Do not roll your eyes at me or I will call Hope to come embarrass you.” She winked before gesturing to the door. “Alright whenever you are ready.”
[Charlie]
“No, mom please don’t bring Hope. I will do anything just don’t let her embarrass me.” He feels his cheeks flush before he starts walking out the door.
[Misty]
“Hm you know your fiancé will have to meet her eventually, might as well get it out the way.” She smiled as she walked with Charlie to the ballroom. She saw Nibs and smiled as she kissed him. “Your son snuck out again. I’m thinking we might as well let him move to the camp so he doesn’t have to pretend to be interested in what’s happening here.”
[Nibs]
Nibs finished talking with the other king as he saw Misty entering the room. He smiled and kissed her back before wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her closer to him. “Oh? Hero is quite adventurous isn’t he? Well that is something we can all talk about with him later.
[Charlie]
Charlie entered the room and saw his dad there with his future fiance and her parents. He had not seen her in person before but she was absolutely stunning and he was rather rendered speechless. “I-I..-” He nervously rubbed his hand against the back of his neck. It had been a while since he had seen her so he wasn’t really sure what to say.
[Misty]
She felt him pulling her closer and nodded, “I think that’s a good idea. You know, if he comes home tonight.” She laughed softly before turning her attention on the other family.
[Rose]
Rose saw Charlie and smiled softly as she curtsied before standing straight. “Hi Charlie, it’s been a long time.” She said before handing Charlie a gift. “It’s not much, it’s a flag with my family’s crest. My parents thought it would be a good gift.”
[Charlie]
Charlie took the gift with a gracious bow. “Thank you, I appreciate the thought. Um...how have you been? Did you want to sit down and talk? It might be a bit more comfortable and I don’t know how long our parents are going to talk..”
[Rose]
“Oh...um...I would like to, but I haven’t been assigned my advisor yet. I don’t want to get anyone in trouble so...we can stay here and sit and talk?”
[Charlie]
“Right, yeah I meant we could just sit at that table over there that way we are still in the eyesight of our parents. I don’t know if they picked an advisor out for me yet.” He tells her before motioning for her to take a seat first.
[Rose]
Rose followed him to the table before sitting down. She didn’t really know what to say or what to talk about. “Um...how are your siblings?” She asked.
[Charlie]
He took a seat after her. “They are pretty good. How about yours? Anything interesting happening in your kingdom?”
[Rose]
“Fine, we don’t see each other much. He is much older than me and has a kingdom to worry about, so I see him here and then.” She explained before shrugging. “Not really, yours?”
[Charlie]
“Nothing really interesting here anymore. My father made sure that this kingdom is safe from well...anything. Seeming as most kingdoms are scared of him I haven’t really had time to get out much. I am surprised that your parents weren’t scared of him too. Not a lot of people are understanding about how we are.”
[Rose]
“My parents don’t actually think I will get married.” She said before realizing what she said. “Not...not that they aren’t happy. But your family tends to make arrangements and cancel them so they don’t have much faith in this. So it’s not that they aren’t scared, it just is they don’t believe it will last.”
[Charlie]
“Well, I am not like my siblings before me. They have tried to marry off my sister when she is already married to someone she loves so...but I haven’t really...I don’t really have experience when it comes to relationships or anything like that. But if we do get married I would make sure to take care of you and protect you. I wouldn’t want to hurt you.”
[Rose]
Rose blushed at his words and nodded as she looked at him, “If we do get married I hope to be a good wife to you. I haven’t been in a relationship either...I mean I have been engaged to you and I take that very seriously. I do hope I will be able to keep you happy and give you an heir. My dad said that’s really important.”
[Charlie]
“I have taken that very seriously as well. I want to be able to make you happy too. I know there is a lot of pressure with the whole giving an heir thing and I mean I understand it...but I just...I don’t know. I don’t like the idea of if it doesn’t work that I would have to sleep with someone else. I thought marriage is something that should be between two people no matter what.”
[Rose]
“My mom is my father’s third wife. I wasn’t raised to believe in love necessarily…so I just want to do what is expected of me. It’s important.” She told him honestly.
[Charlie]
“My father has refused to take anyone other than my mother. I know they had some tough times before but they were able to work through it together. Had he actually gone through with using someone else. Well...I probably wouldn’t be here.”
[Rose]
“Yes I’ve heard. The ladies at our castle gossip a lot.” She smiled. “Um...is it true that there is a club near here? That you guys go to a lot?” She asked him softly.
[Charlie]
“What do you mean they gossip a lot? I mean they don’t think that is something bad do they?” He asks in confusion. “Are you talking about the club my sister used to run? That was closed down a while ago.”
[Rose]
“No they just talk about how your father is so forgiving. That’s all…” She said before shaking her head. “No not that one. Is there another one?”
[Charlie]
“I don’t know. I haven’t really ventured away from the castle much. My parents keep me here to make sure I don’t run off like my siblings have.” He shrugged. “Have you been to one before?”
[Rose]
“Yes, they are quite fun.” She said before nodding. “I guess that makes sense. You have a lot of responsibility so they probably want you to be focused on that.” She said before standing up. “I am sure we will see a lot of each other now that I am moving in.”
[Charlie]
“Yeah, I think so. But I would like to have some fun once I am King. Or maybe before if I could help it. We can always try to go together?” He asks before standing up as well. “Right, yes, I tried to set everything up nicely for you so it can still remind you a bit of your home so it’s not completely strange to stay here.”
[Rose]
“I would like that.” She smiled before hearing his words, “Oh thank you, that is so kind.” She said to him. “I hope we will be able to be happy together.” She said before curtsying and heading over to her parents.
[Charlie]
“I hope so too.” He tells her with a smile before giving a bow before she goes over to join her parents. Charlie went over to join his parents as well.
