Disappointment
She knew her visit wouldn’t be taken well.
Elv’s fists tightened inside of her heavy plate gloves. Her plate mask rested under one arm, the other hand swinging limply at her side with a fistful of flowers. The eternal darkness of Duskwood wrapped around her, but she felt as exposed as if a highbeam was focused on every step of hers. Her ears quivered as she paced on the main road in front of Rose’s shared home. Her eyes, silver and sharp, were half-lidded as if she were already mourning the relationship she knew would be destroyed after this visit.
With a deep breath, Elvania stepped up to the front door and rapped her knuckles against the wood. The metal covering her hands made a sharper sound than her bare hands would, she noted, and hoped that Rose’s poor roommates weren’t home to be frightened by the noise.
Maybe Rose would forgive her by now?
