Just Picture this:

MXs dressing up as Santa Claus during Xmas and going to orphanages. John looks at Dorian and asks him if he used to do that too. Dorian says: “No, I used to dress up as Krampus and I hunted down criminals on Christmas Eve.”

Or, alternatively: 

Every Christmas Rudy bypasses the MXs restrictions and permits them to experience basic emotions, then he takes them around the city and asks them to find every stray animal who is cold and alone, so that they can bring them to a pet shelter. Every Christmas, half of those animals are actually stinky sewer rats.

Rudy: “John, I need help.” John: “It’s Xmas, I’m on leave.” Rudy: “John, I told the MXs that rats are not admitted to pet shelters and now they are sad.” John: “…” Rudy: “SAD, JOHN.” John: “Just throw those damn rats back where they came from. Leave me out of it.”

I just read what is happening and why people are upset about Colin NEW AMAZING JOB and... uuh goddangit I'm happy you didn't get hate. Why is there even hate floating tbh.

I think some people are having trouble differencing Colin the man vs Colin the actor. I also think that a lot of people have identified Colin as being Killian, the good man who would never think to manipulate an underage girl into bed, or that some have placed Colin on such a pedestal that imagining him being an evil manipulator triggers them. 

Plus, some people read the book and lived (or know someone who lived) a situation similar to the one Colin will be a part of, and they just can’t accept that someone they love/admire will endorse said behavior.

But......... It is and will always be ACTING. This has nothing to do with Colin. So I don’t get the point of sending him hate. Also, and this is the most important thing for me... No one is forced into seeing this movie. This remains a personal choice. You want to see this movie? Go. You don’t want to see it for XYZ reasons? Don’t go.

Colin made a choice by accepting this role. Now, make yours.

you are not the only one! and the fact that a lot of times there are tags like “edit” when it’s an art and “art” when it’s an edit doesn’t help me to be less confused and potentially disgruntled

Yeah, I remember when I first posted stuff on Tumblr and people reblogged my edits and tagged them as art, I got really worried because I didn’t want people thinking they were paintings. I mean I think photomanipulation/edits are a form of art. But they’re not paintings and there are different skills involved. In terms of realism, that’s obviously a hundred times easier to achieve if you start out with a photo and just edit it. So it really bothers me when people just apply a filter or whatever and then claim it’s a painting.
