I was recently asked by Angelika Hager to perform at the Thermalbad Vöslau in an adaptation of Mathieu Nicolas’ novel “Rose Royal”. I had played there before and loved it, so I happily said “yes”. Bad Vöslau is like a time machine. A perfect pool of sparkling water clean enough to drink surrounded by old Viennese architecture, Schönbrunn yellow walls and lime green metal roofs, under tall trees swaying in the warm breeze. I wanted to do something special for such a special place, so instead of just playing a bunch of my old songs, I decided to write some new material for the reading. It’s one and only performance was two months ago together with the talented Manuel Rubey and Martina Ebm. It was a real pleasure getting to know those two and sharing the stage with them! If you’re one of my patreon supporters or would like to become one, then you can hear those tracks now by going to www.patreon.com/ianfishersongs Thanks to everyone who inspired me to write them! #roseroyal (at Thermalbad Vöslau) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTzwYnmlYTO/?utm_medium=tumblr
