Usually I am a fan of the very romantic and full cabbage or quartered roses, but the abundant sprays of blooms of the singles appeal to me as well. To be honest, there is hardly any rose that I don’t like! I am pretty certain that this is a Multiflora Rose, but I am not sure about the specific variety. Can someone of you dear rose lovers out there try to identify it for me? I ran into this beauty on a trip in England. I am really looking forward, maybe more than ever, to the roses of this year and intend to photograph as many as I can. Are you also excited about the rose season 2021? #rose #roses #multiflora #multiflora #multiflorarose #singlerose #singleroses #organicgardendreams #rosesofinstagram #fortheloveofroses #roselovers #roselover #roseconnoisseur #flowers #blooms #sprayofroses #beautifulroses #flowerphotography #roseseason #roseseason2021 #beautiful #romantic #cheerful #gardening (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKWJ7xFgaBO/?igshid=18gok1niwhefb

Cakebread Vin de Porche Rosé of Pinot Noir ~ Wine of the Day

Fifty-year-old Cakebread Cellars offers an expressive Rosé wine selection with its Vin de Porche Rosé of Pinot Noir from Northern California’s Anderson Valley with a touch of fruit hailing from the cool Carneros region of Napa. Crisp,…

Yes Pink
The day-glo pink is the first asterisk, but it’s a muddled pink, burnished with salmon and onion-skin to a point where I am not terribly critical. No idea of the variety, but I suppose it *could* be grenache, and knowing this producer–and his recent marketing proclivities–who knows. Fat and round in the nose and taste: sweet and rotund while still managing a particular beauty despite the…

Domaine Carneros Avante Garde Rosé ~ Wine of the Day
As we celebrate Earth Day today, honoring Mother Earth and the bounty she provides, we raise a glass to the newly released Avante Garde Rosé of Pinot Noir from Domaine Carneros. The wine showcases the strength and power of the sun with a wine whose production was fueled with solar-powered energy. In 2023, the winery unveiled its solar microgrid, producing enough energy to run the bottling of the…

Mourve Over
Despite the alleged existence of a *Rosé Season*, I drink rosé all year long. Flat-brim marketing hooey aside, retailers claim it is almost impossible to sell during winter, and spring-time signals a rush on the shelves. And–as has been well-established on these pages–I am ridiculously picky about my rosé. My preferred varieties are Grenache–first and foremost–with Mourvedre, Corvina and Sangio…

Raising a glass to Rosé
It’s National Rose Day, and we are toasting with all things pretty in pink. Dozens of red grape varieties are used to create dry Rosé wines, each lending unique flavor profiles, textures, and characteristics to their style of Rosé. These varieties include every grape from the Rhone Valley, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Italy, Spain, Portugal, America, and on and on and on. One of the most widely used…
