Pos Hour: My art history professor is recording us these podcast versions of our lectures and he's so sweet about encouraging us to post discussions and send him emails so we can still have the banter filled atmosphere we normally have in class I love him????? He said he couldn't record it in his office so he went to our sad closed down class room and recorded it in front of an empty room like we were still there he's so sweet I LOVE HIM

Two questions. As anyone guessed what song is about her grandfather (she mentioned it on the album prologue) and is there anything definitive on the teenage trilogy? Betty and cardigan seem to be the ones for sure but mad woman and illicit affair seem to be the other candidates for the third. Illicit affair would best fit with the story but mad woman seems connected to Betty as a character while also being tied to Rebecca so hmmm
1) the song about her grandfather is “epiphany” because the first verse is in the perspective of a soldier on a beach
2) the teenage love triangle trilogy is “cardigan,” “august,” and “betty.” each song is told in the perspective of one person in the triangle (the other person, betty, james respectively)
You know. I have a Feeling The Last Great American Dynasty is about celebrity. Considering this album was recorded and produced (idk about written) in the last three months it could’ve her reflecting on what celebrity means to her and how it’s changing or being destroyed (or a sort of sequel to the lucky one). I mean it’s probably a political song but I think that something like this from her would just be. Chefs kiss.
it’s such an interesting song title that i’m super curious to see what the theme is about. honestly i’m really glad that we didn’t have a long time to know about this album because i’m going in blind which is the first time i’ve listened to an entire taylor swift album with no hints since ... 1989
Not 100% sure if this is unpopular or not but idsb tour mix>album mix. Her vocals singing they’re burning all the witches? They got their pitchforks and proof, don’t need their reasons? The build up of light me up? The slowed down dramatic intro? All make it a superior mix and I am sad every day there’s no official release.

I really want Taylor to get nominated for best album of the year, I would love if chromatica or future nostalgia got nominated too (Chromatica might get relegated to best pop album tho) also I have yet to listen to The Chick's new album but it should get nominated for best country out of principle.
definitely yes to the future nostalgia nomination. i would be really surprised if dua lipa managed to slide by this GRAMMY cycle with no nominations because future nostalgia was a top notch album.
also another yes to the chicks’ gaslighter album. it was a fantastic album and i haven’t really heard any other good country albums this year aside from them
