Rosetta@home why do you lie to me?!
Helping science while your computer is idle.
You don't have to be a scientist to do science. By running the Rosetta@Home screensaver, your computer helps crunch data for important projects, helping advance knowledge forward. Managed by the Univesity of Washington. Say hello if you stop by.
Folding@home ARM support lets Android devices crunch COVID-19 research data Folding@home and Rosetta@home can now run on billions of Android smartphones, Raspberry Pi devices and ARM-based servers. The distributed computing projects, which give citizen scientists a way to contribute their devices’ computing power to the deve...
Church of Satan SETI@Home is now Church_of_Satan_Rosetta
From space exploration to medical research. Help fight Covid-19 and contribute in other scientific research.
The Church of Satan has long had a SETI@Home team for helping scientists compute signals from space. Since SETI has stopped distributing work, I have now created a new team called: Church_of_Satan_Rosetta.
By running Rosetta@homeon your computer when you’re not using it you will speed up…

BOINC, Rosetta@home and COVID-19
1. Rosetta@Home, 2. SIMAP, 3. folding@home, 4. SETI@home
If you're like us and have your computer running day and night, why don't you open up your computing power to help solve some of the world's biggest questions? It's easy, it doesn't cost you anything, it gives more sense to all those times our computers are busy showing us their wonderful screensavers, and you might be part of something really big!
Take a look at our list of the best distributing computing projects, add the projects you're supporting or consider worth supporting, and vote for your favorites!
So, I've just downloaded 'BOINC', which seems to be a really cool and helpful program to run on a computer or laptop you've got lying about.
BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) allows you to 'donate' your idle computer time to a science project of your choice, whether it be climate study, search for artificial intelligence or any other science related project (projects currently running are listed here).
I am currently helping Rosetta@home.
Here's what their project is about:
"Rosetta@home needs your help to determine the 3-dimensional shapes of proteins in research that may ultimately lead to finding cures for some major human diseases. By running the Rosetta program on your computer while you don't need it you will help us speed up and extend our research in ways we couldn't possibly attempt without your help. You will also be helping our efforts at designing new proteins to fight diseases such as HIV, Malaria, Cancer, and Alzheimer's"
