Fun fact, you can look at the earth live from the International Space Station.
The ISS feed has three looks (and thats it!):
The "It's in Earth's Shadow" Black Screen
The "Switching Access Points" Screen
And the 👁️👄👁️
45 minutes in the sun, 45 minutes in Earth's Shadow, (90 minute orbit) so half the time there's nothing to show. Minus! the time that the video feed is shut off for bandwidth or switching data access points. So less then half the time it's awe inspiring but the times when it is: amazing.
I bought a 4 or 5 inch monitor for my desk that's just a browser window to this YouTube page.
You can hear the astronauts talk to ground control. A lot of it is mundane stuff like "hey, these serial numbers don't match up, what do I do?" or "houston the barcode scanner isn't syncing with the ipad, I've tried rebooting both".
