She thought a first invitation to the Ghostbusters headquarters might be a bit like the first invitation to someone’s home, where you have to bring a gift. She starts to offer Holtz the candies, but pauses--her look over her glasses is serious and intent. ”Do I get to look at a proton pack?”

      the brink of dawn is edging against the fixture of the catwalk. you’re fatigued, running on less than six hours of sleep : coffee runs through your veins, pumping through each vessel as if it is adrenaline. you lose time, as if your soul projected outward from your vessel. you’re in the blood bank, post-op ( she was a young mother, you promised to watch over her & scrutinize her regimen once she awakes ) -- this is not your job and you know it. yet, to trust your intern at hours like this... it gnaws at the edge of your flesh, as if a feeling you cannot shake. thus, you unlock the code and stride into the ichorous chamber of this hospital. ichorous stench lingers within your nasals : the smell of blood never seems to please you -- then, you stand and your eyes only widen at the scene before you.   ❛  uh.... what’s going on?  ❜    you, in the pinnacle of red wonder if this, perhaps is an image conjured by your mind -- have you lost your mind? you wonder, yet, you could only stand there still, static like.

“of course they are.”  after all, you’ve seen it first-hand--as well as twisted your words quite well (almost too well, but--those aren’t your consequences, they’re everyone else’s.  you’re just a ‘neutral’ party...well, whatever helps you sleep at night).  “people want to hear what’s good.  they want to hear what best suits their purposes.  tell them what they want to hear and they’ll do anything you ask them to.”

your nails tap against your flesh--cold, so, so cold--almost idly, like it’s a way to get rid of the (albeit little amount of) energy that zips through you.  it’s as if you get a kick out of this, out of using people for your own gain--what a sick woman.  “if you ask me, it’s much more fun not to and watch them deal with the fact that--not everything goes their way.  cruel of me, i know.  you don’t have to do what i do.  in fact, i’d advocate against it.”
