Back to defensive players, and #35 Safety Ross Ventrone, who was on the Pat's practice squad after being undrafted. While the Patriot's don't have clearly defined starters at safety, it's hard to say that Ventrone would challenge for starting time after a not-amazing career at Villanova (although, I could see him making some plays as a gunner).

In this game film of his college career put out by Ventrone's (#14) agents, he shows sound tackling ability and some good speed closing on the ball carrier, but he's not too much of a factor in the passing game, and rarely makes any big hits to put the fear into opposing receivers (maybe because he's only 5-8).
