1. Serena is very much a person who puts a lot of emphasis on the meaning behind flowers. From a young age, the language behind them was always something that interested her-- to the point where she went out of her way to commit different interpretations to memory. For someone like Serena, who used to be incredibly shy and reliant on a close friends of hers to do the talking for her, it slowly became a way for the blonde to express her emotions. Eventually, it became a habit of hers to point out or gift different kinds of flowers to those she considered dear, and even after the events of X, it is still something she will resort to when words fail her. To her, it is not an inherently romantic gesture, but one she relies on to express things she might find confronting to admit-- be it towards a friend, family, or significant other.
The only downside is, for every flower or bouquet she receives, Serena cannot help but try to infer meaning from them, even if it was not the giver’s intention. A lot of the time, she realises the flowers are just there because they look pretty, and has to remind herself to simply just smile and thank the other for even considering giving her something, rather than focusing on the symbolism behind each and every piece of it.
