a new teacup in the cabinet. placed inconspicuous with all the others. upon trying to begin making his tea, the water simply rolls right off the top... how did hu tao get that thin and clear of a piece of glass in the cup, just to prevent zhongli from filling it?
“Oh—” He blurts out, stunned and eyes wide. Well that isn’t supposed to happen. Within seconds of noticing, he lifts up the kettle spout, preventing any further spillage. Though that did little to stop what did flood over the counter, as well as the water droplets which seem to drip onto his pants.
Hot. That is HOT.
Breaking what little remaining composure he has, he scrunches his face and hisses. By that point, there was no salvaging what had been done. “Hu Tao... gods!”
They are going to have a long talk once (or if) he catches her.
" you! i've seen you spending time with zhongli! " and she knows anyone who hangs out with zhongli is some sort of weirdo, whether by virtue of not being human, or just having a weird taste in companions. " he's missed some important business because of you! i remand a reason! " she's overexaggerating, but it's not like she can just come out and say 'why are you hanging around my consultant.' that's just too forward! (xiao!)

Xiao knew of Rex Lapis’ human persona’s boss, the director of the funeral parlor. Xiao did find it mildly amusing someone as old as the Geo Archon worked for someone so young. But she must have proven herself if she held such a high position, Xiao can relate to that, being the youngest elite Yaksha.
The adeptus avoided crowds, in turn meant Liyue but it was late at night, nobody around and he came to the city to actually visit Madame Ping. She invited him for tea and a chat under better circumstance then the event with Osial.
Xiao didn’t have to give into her demands, what he discussed with the former Geo Archon was between them.
“We were discussing private matters.”
“hooo... you're the owner? one of your maids dutifully contacted my business in liyue about a possible ghost problem! my name is hu tao, 77th director of the wangsheng funeral parlor! you must be mr. diluc?” she will admit, he doesn't look like what she imagined. “there were no ghosts, but you DO have some rats in the walls... and also a small hole in the wall.” she whispers that last part... mistakes on the job happen!
[ ... ] AN INQUIRY. featuring @rougeborders [ ID: HUTAO ].
he heard of her supposed arrival before she does, and when he first casts her a glance, he isn’t looking at someone expected. perhaps a wangsheng funeral parlour should... be... more... well, he doesn’t what exactly, but he didn’t look forward to having a seemingly prepubescent girl handling the so-called ‘ghost problems’ that, for diluc, is barely a concrete problem in general. he doesn’t preserve any trepidation towards poltergeists and the likes, the commonality nothing too flagrant when he’s comprehended that not everyone past this life transcended well into the aftermath. when she has handled what she’s hired for, identifying the matter at hand, it’s only courteous of diluc to meet her in person. so, he does.
she seems very exuberant of a person—just the type that diluc cannot truly stand, but he doesn’t let that impression bleed into his demeanour. a stoic one is maintained, as per routine, and he nods at her when she explains the matter. “yes. i’d like to thank you personally for your willingness to travel here all the way from liyue,” he says. “consider the bill covered.” he doesn’t know how to approach the hole problem, now, so he supposes he’d ask for the explanation to cover the expenses of the already hired service. “and what might be the cause for the hole, according to you? so that i can exterminate it immediately.”
And then there’s this asshole...
