Karuba remains one of my favorite filler games. Designed by #RudigerDorn (I absolutely love his games but has anyone actually ever met him?), Karuba has players racing to get four adventurers on their player board through the jungle to their matching color temples on the opposite side of the board. Players start the game with the exact same setup of adventurers and temples and an identical set of tiles depicting different configurations of routes through the jungle. One player draws a tile, bingo style and all players place the identical tile on their player boards simultaneously. With only 36 tiles and such a small player board it always surprises me to see how quickly everyone's routes look completely different. Published by HABA but don't misjudge this as a "kids game." This is a fast, clever, and "thinky" game that works for gamers of ages and experience levels.
