Algy is Temporarily Out of Action
Owing to Storm Amy, Algy and his assistants have been cut off from the outside world except for occasional brief connections courtesy of a powerbank. At present the storm is still raging, with wind gusts forecast to reach between 91mph and 100mph… The power company currently estimate that, like many other households across north-west Scotland, Algy's home will be without power for several days… Algy hopes they are wrong!
So, as the wild west Highlands of Scotland are currently even wilder than usual, Algy is not able to post any new adventures, but he has selected an appropriate GIF which was originally posted four years ago, and hopes you will forgive the repetition, because:
The glass has been falling all the afternoon, And knowing better than the instrument What winds are walking overhead, what zone Of grey unrest is moving across the land, I leave the book upon a pillowed chair And walk from window to closed window, watching Boughs strain against the sky And think again, as often when the air Moves inward toward a silent core of waiting, How with a single purpose time has traveled By secret currents of the undiscerned Into this polar realm. Weather abroad And weather in the heart alike come on Regardless of prediction. Between foreseeing and averting change Lies all the mastery of elements Which clocks and weatherglasses cannot alter. Time in the hand is not control of time, Nor shattered fragments of an instrument A proof against the wind; the wind will rise, We can only close the shutters. I draw the curtains as the sky goes black And set a match to candles sheathed in glass Against the keyhole draught, the insistent whine Of weather through the unsealed aperture. This is our sole defense against the season; These are the things we have learned to do Who live in troubled regions.
[Algy is quoting the poem Storm Warnings by the 20th/early 21st century American poet Adrienne Rich.]

Today it still is summer, Tomorrow will be fall. I see the purple asters, I hear the autumn's call.
The goldenrod is waving. The bees are in the clover. I hear a distant honking- The geese are flying over.
The maple leaves are golden: The pumpkins, round and yellow. The apple cheeks are rosy.. The pears are getting mellow.
Today it still is summer, Tomorrow will be fall. Today I still am barefoot- Oh, how I love it all!

Grove of rowan trees
August is my favourite month. The weather is pleasant, the air is fresh, the colours are deep, and the sun is (mostly) non-hostile.
Providing the family is harder than I thought! Aeggy sighs as another rose thorn bites his squishy-tiny foot and the apple tree branches tug his hair. But it'll all be worth it when Aemond and Baela tell him how good and brave he's been! (They did. They were quite impressed and proud of him ❤)
