Amazing acting. Great sympathetic connection for both the husband and wife. Very intricately weaved web. There is a twist I never saw coming! Nice wrap up. Very cohesive.

Phenomenal acting job by Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman but I expect no less from those two veterans of film. We already knew Nicole had it in her because of The Others but Colin really came for our throats in the best way.

Three minutes in and Colin Firth has you hooked on his King's Speech about how Nicole Kidman was in an accident and has a memory that basically resets every night. Next she finds out she has a secret doctor that her husband doesn’t know about because he basically doesn’t want her getting treatment, uh, suspect. Also it turns out there was no accident, Nicole's character, Christine, was attacked and left for dead. Her doctor, Dr. Nasch gives Christine a camera so she can video diary her days and actually have a record of things from her perspective for once (this is of course a secret from hubby, Ben). Colin Firth is so believable as this lovable husband who is trying his best for his ill wife, it is wild. She finds out that they had a child who died before he turned nine (9) which was devastating for her to find out and will be devastating for her every single day as she relearns that piece of information.
Things are getting shady between her and her husband but also her and her therapist (there is even a moment when she thinks her therapist might be the guy who tried to kill her), it is getting hard to tell who she should trust! Christine is dreaming about this Mike character who may or may not have a scar on his face but she just cannot remember. Things finally come to a head when Christine reunites with an old friend. “Christine, describe Ben to me.” Ben is supposed to be Christine's husband and that is supposed to be Colin Firth… Right? WRONG! This whole time all of the photos were photoshopped, he isn’t Ben, he is MIKE and he is the guy who hurt her in the first place! Damn! Plot twist! It also turns out Ben does have a scar on his face from a skiing accident or something posh like that.
Christine is still under the spell of Colin Firth and he takes her to the room where it happened, the room where she got attacked in the first place, by MIKE who is Colin Firth and he confesses this to her after slapping her for her confessing having the camera. They have a big fight, she hits him with a clothes iron to get away. Then she hits the fire alarm and escapes! The movie ends with her reuniting with the real Ben and meeting her still living son who she remembers which is a huge deal. But yeah, her son never died, Mike just lied to her about that as well and hid away the photos so she wouldn’t remember. What a sicko. Christine is finally happy and her memory is improving being around all of these constant reminders of who she actually is.
