Rivet City Danse, Pre-Brotherhood
"One of these days you're gonna get something worse than a scar!" Cutler yells as he looks for more rags
"You're just jealous you didn't get to see it!" Danse smirked
My own little headcanon about the scar in his eyebrow, I look at it and remember seeing a split brow from a fight. I like to imagine Danse was a bit more impulsive and not afraid to throw the first punch, especially if he sees someone being treated harshly/unfairly. Maybe a reason why Paladin Krieg was so tough on him, Danse was seen as a bit of a loose canon in his early days as an initiate.

About a week or so after what happened in my last drawing, Danse is at the Muddy Rudder with Cutler, trying to enjoy a somewhat cold beer while sporting a fresh black eye. Everything is going well until he notices one patron being a little too mouthy to Bonny, Cutler says to let Brock handle it.
Danse agrees, but still watches.

I imagine he got home and found a guy robbing the neighbor, this scene plays out, then Cutler gets home and helps lol

First of all: ADORE your art!! The style scratches my brain in such a satisfying way :D
Secondly, I am fully on board with scrappy Danse pre-brotherhood! From my experience, it sounds like joining the Brotherhood mellowed him out a bit and then Cutler's death is what caused him to go so stone-faced. Especially conisdering how he mentions he's scared of just having a close friend again because of it.

YAY!!! I'm so happy people like my little thought experiment, he is such an interesting character to me! I've only been playing for a few months and Danse has very quickly become my favorite. That is exactly the thoughts I had when meeting/getting to know him. Dude has been through a LOT and even if it is a big debate on what all memories are "real" or "fake" I like making him some memories of life in Rivet City with Cutler. The scrappy part honestly started when I was looking at fighting references and saw a boxer with a split brow and thought, "Hey, that looks like Danse's eyebrow a little bit" and BOOM here we are lolol
