“A lie can run round the world before the truth has got its boots on.”
HER PAST
Roxanne Reed was born to be something more than average, her mother made sure of that. Growing up she was encouraged to explore her opportunities in life and ended up falling in love with ‘discovering the truth’. This led to her not always keeping friends when she was in middle or high school. Her complete focus was on bettering herself and keeping up her alpha dog approach. By the end of her senior year the young woman managed to be editor and chief three years out of the four years she was there. Roxanne was the first student to hold that record. When she graduated she landed a job at the local newspaper and earned her way by writing advice pieces which she hated to do. After a year of being on the team she somehow convinced the editor and chief to let her cover exposes. Which is when her name became known across Orange County.
As the crime rate across the state, country, and world began to escalate, Roxxie felt as if her dream was coming true before her eyes. Not only did she write for her own paper but she would send pieces to other stations across the U.S to be published. Roxanne felt a sense of worth each time she exposed something or discovered a way to pick apart a situation. Over the years the journalist became known for her bite and ruthlessness. Which is what led the Government to seeking her out. They appointed her the main journalist in the Birdcage Theory which they had given funds to. They wanted her to send back pieces keeping them in the loop of what was happening in the underground town. She agreed only under the terms of going after whatever she felt was important. Her paper back home begged her not to leave.
CURRENTLY
The journalist has been living in the theory for the entire year it has been running, she has written nearly thirty pieces over the course of time. Anything and everything is news to the woman and she will use whatever interactions she can to be the best reporter she can be. Due to have a close connection to the government she also works closely with Nicolas who acts as the government’s soldier. Recently she has noticed some interesting interactions between politician Andrew Wayne and the theory’s own decider Olivia Morgan. Which has led to her starting a new piece on the two. She believes that they are making plans to push Birdcage’s mayor, Aaron King, out of power.
EXTRA INFORMATION
Has no shame in recording her thoughts when in public.
When stressed the journalist with take up her own space at the local bar and drink just enough to get tipsy but not enough to become drunk.
Roxanne has major trust issues due to her mindset of the 'truth'.
While working for the local paper she would add small sarcastic advice to her actually advice since she hated her position so much.
She has no problem putting someone above her in their place, even if she is in the wrong.
When she's alone she enjoys watching old film noir films

One Step Closer
Raven didn't know why no one else had smelled it yet. Perhaps all the rain and snow and slush had driven away the heat that was left in this poor girl's body. With her hand clasped over her mouth the officer brushed back a lock of blonde hair from the girl's face, and almost fell back from shock at her appearance. Another one.
She was given the late night street patrol. Which was fine, especially when it was such a nice night out, and she was practically itching to get her hands on this sick bastard and squeeze the life from his throat. The streets were deserted though, all citizens in their homes, safe from the danger outside. This was supposed to be a safe haven, not a play ground for a potential serial killer, and Raven would be damned if she let anyone else get hurt in her new home. Unfortunately it had already happened. Her patrol took her through the alleyways of the back streets, past the dumpsters and the darkest corners where they had already found an unfortunate soul. It was behind the House of Wax, amongst dirty shrubbery and trash that Raven found the cold-hardened body of Roxanne Reed.
Hands shaking, she grasped for her radio, only finding the grip when she pulled herself together somewhat. Code 10-45 was for a potential dead body, she knew, but by the look of this girl she'd been here for at least a few days. Maybe a week, if the cold had stopped the decomposition. "St-station, come in. 10-55 on Hawkesbury Street, behind the wax museum." She paused, and let the sound of white noise fill her ears, swallowing harshly. She didn't know the girl at all, only heard of her and her camera. She stood and went to the wall, inhaling deeply. Another one. How could they have not caught this monster? What if... what if it was someone who had been here the whole time, waiting for the perfect time to strike? What if it was someone she knew?
Raven exhaled sharply and went to turn, when her foot connected with something hard, making it skid across the almost frozen surface of the alley. Black, plastic, shiny, reflective... The camera. She ran to it, pulled her hands into her sleeves, and flicked the on switch. She had no clue how these things worked, with the fancy lens and settings, but finding the gallery wasn't hard. The last picture was of a fairly handsome man, with a strong brow, fair hair, and the look in his eyes was... fatal. Her hand went to her radio again, and she knew this was it.
"Sheriff, I've got him."
